Top stuff from my ' Vidi Vici ' team-mates Maureen, John, Mr Gee and Casper, all 4 of them closing out personal victories today as 'Vidi Vici' now goes three-from-three after a slowish start to the comp. We always knew that this was a staying contest rather than a sprint, and have timed our run accordingly. :)

Congrats to our MVP Mr Gee who has gotten better-and-better as the comp has progressed and was absolutely on fire today ! Legend. Maureen has likewise emerged as a real force in the comp, and has now gone three-from-three in her latest outings. John is the 'Mr Consistency' of the team just as he has always been for the Hurricanes and now goes 4 from 5, whilst Casper carries on his winning ways running at or near the top of the comp individual aggregates.

I thought that winning 5 of the first 6 races today might be enough to get me home, but when you're up against a 'Mighty Blues' stalwart like Brian then you can never feel confident and so it proved as Brian roared home the final 3 races in a fashion similar to Mr Gee to take me out very easily in the end. Well done, Brian, ensuring that 'We 5 Kings' avoided a complete whitewash.

Thanks for your top efforts today 'Vidi Vici' team-mates, I'm starting to enjoy this Captaincy lark ....you just sit there, do nothing, lose personal matches, then bask in the reflected glory on the back of team-mates' efforts.

Well done Brian of 'We 5 Kings', commiserations to 'We 5 Kings', thanks as always to PJ for the scoring and updates and all the best for your trip, and thanks to John for stepping-in to do the scoring for the final 2 days of the comp.

'Sleighed Em's'  ....we're a comin' to get ya ! :D  Good work today by 'The Rubick Cubes' ....never doubted you for a minute.

No wonder Im on bp pills. Some of us got the timing wrong for our mid term break. Nicely done Elves, and Sarah I was rather fortuitous with the jocks in one particular race. :P and thankfully it stopped a rout. Having said that Catalano finished with a wet sail and gave his opponent a fright. Augers well for tomorrow and anybody's race so onwards and upwards.

Thanks, no probs, Happy New Year to you

Ditto Hesi. Driving back on Southern Motorway, a spanner, or something similar, flew off a double trailer thundering past...it hit the bonnet and left a nice dent, then bounced up and hit the windscreen right in front of my wifes face...by the grace of God, and X5 reinforced glass, it bounced off and over....I've just been down to buy that Lotto ticket.....

Vidi Vici v Sleighed'em

Maureen's was the big result here for the Vidi Vici. That BB Quinella including the 23-1 shot is gonna give Maria  an awful lot to chase.

Surprizingly 3 Selectors on the 23-1 shot that only just went down.  I bet that John heaved a huge sigh of relief. :)

Stratford commentator let off the hook there with the deadheat.

He was in no doubt that Sugar Rush had won.

Then he looked again. :D

Good on him for putting his neck on the chopping block though. There's a Northern commentator who won't make the call even when there's a short head or a long head in it.

Only BBs in the next race Race 5 are attributable to opponents John (VV) & Wrinkles (SE)

John on Our Dynamite & Helenaoftroy    :    Wrinkles on Our Dynamite & Porotene Magnum

Beautiful Man & Almarie will be a good result for the VVs.

Porotene Magnum clearly a good result for the SEs; also Cutting Up Rough & Van Gough.

' Vidi Vici ' v ' Sleighed'em '

Next race Race 6 is a big, big race for SE with their number 7 Vencedora.

PJ, Maria & Hall all have BBs on Vencedora;  Maria and Hall also with BBs on En Suite;PJ a BB on Spondulix.

Is this the "make-or- break" race for SE ?

Hollypop (BB for Mr Gee) & Starossa will be good results for VV, also Razor's Edge (also BB for Mr Gee), though Jen also gets some benefit from Razor's Edge also..

' Vidi Vici ' v ' Sleighed'em'

Opponents Casper (VV) & Jen (SE) have both Best Betted the final 2 races, the genius Casper on fire again today and presently holding a handy lead. But with BBs`Jen is not out of this yet.

Now for the penultimate race, Casper with his BBs on Bizzwinkle (can Jasmine Fawcett do anything wrong ?) and Georgethefifth (surely Tony Allan deserves this). Jen with her BBs on Dramatist and Terracotta Warrior (both definite`chances for sure).

PJ only slightly behind one HowieRightFirstTime and with the chance to launch ahead for the first time today with his BBs on Saint Kitt ( the horse`that's been there and done that ), and Cassie Anne (her swansong as she retires with this race according to what I heard on Trackside earlier).

John and Wrinkles ' match is super close, with John looking to Light Em Up to keep him ahead, Wrinkles looking to Piece of Kate to snatch the lead.

Mr Gee can snatch the lead in his matchup with Hall if Georgethefifth or Terracotta Warrior gets up; Hall can hold on with Cruiser or Alarmist.

So, 4-1 to VV with only two races to go, but three of the five matches with very little separating them, and can go either way. You'd have to say that VV have the advantage, but only just.

Don't go anywhere folks ...this is going to the wire.

10 minutes ago, Casper said:

Casper has enjoyed Captain Howie's updates between the two heavyweights but will err on the side of caution before hoisting the flag, as Casper has always been told never to count ones Reindeer's before they hatch

You're far too modest Casper ...5 wins from 7 races... you're seemingly only one step away from walking on water. :)

What can Jen do with her two Best Bet horses in the final race ? They should be paying plenty.
