Hear, hear Rees.  Congrats to the Thieves on Wheels in the list of top aggregates - you've well and truly earned your week (or two) off!  :)

Any chance of a bit more detail, so we can all cheer on the respective horses.  NZ Cup and Dominion, about as big as it gets in the trotting world

Hi Hesi,

Sure.

Jack's Legend in the Cup and Dark Horse in the Dominion. Both horses will give their all, and count ourselves lucky to have more than a runners chances in both events.

Jack's Legend has something in common with the Melbourne Cup winner, in that he would be classed as a three year old in the UK. He was a January foal.

Thanks everyone for your support.

Cheers.

Robert.

Yes Dark Horse for us in the DOM. There has been some consternation about the rankings for some horses above Dark Horse of which those in charge have been trying to get the Met to elaborate on. Silence is golden apparently for the Met. Enough said. She is a live chance and we are all proud of her achievements so far.

Mighty Blues peaking nicely towards their Grand Final matchup against the Hurricanes next Saturday, with today seen as a good warm-up as part of the journey. The Flying Sulkies have done surprisingly well to date but now with their focus on Addington,  the NZ Trotting Cup, the  Dominion, and all things harness racing well, let's face it, all semblance of concentration on picking thoroughbred winners has long gone for them. Trying to line up the thoroughbreds will be all too confusing for the Flying Sulkies today. Thank you for your participation The Flying Sulkies, and farewell. :D

I'm running with these likely sorts today :-

  • R1:
  • 3- Irish Call - in great form at this carnival last year. Am looking for a repeat. This lineup isn't overly strong, and well within Irish Call's scope.
  • 6- Shadow King - ultra consistent and will get a nice trip today. I like backing Dummy's runners in the South Island.
  • R2:
  • 2-Kinagat - Unlucky last start but doesn't help himself getting back and looking for inside runs. I'll give him another chance.
  • 9-Enzo's`Lad - Trainer believes Kinagat is`his`best, so nothing `surer than that Enzo's Lad will do the business instead. Lots to like about him, not the least being CWJ on board.
  • R3:
  • 8-Pinsraad - Well-placed in this. Northern raider to get the nice trip from the '2' draw and expecting a top result.
  • 9-King Kane - won well last start and will be powering home for Matt Cameron. Can do it, and should do it.
  • R4:   Best Bet NZ
  • 2-Bostonian - had a wretched run in transit last time out after getting back. Needs to capitalise on the good draw.
  • 7-Embellish - not sure that is much or any better than the stablemates, but the 'Opie factor' has swayed me as it has for other selectors.
  • R5:
  • 2- Lord Aspen - Won this race last year. Has the form, the draw, the jockey. What's not to like ?
  • 7- Lite'n in My Veins - Lots of good write-ups this week about this one's chances. I'm swayed by that, as not an overly strong lineup
  • R6:
  • 4-Grazia - Impressive last-start winner and will go on with it. Hopefully Michael McNab makes the weight.
  • 7- Sacred Empire - Now ready to deliver on the promise. The Tony Pike/Mark du Plessis combo looks good to me.
  • R7:
  • 2- Prompt Response - Will give a great sight. If replicates previous run, will win. Trainers/Jockey very much in form.
  • 6-Falika - Keeps`producing the goods and confidently expected to do the same today.
  • R8:      Best Bet AUS
  • 2-Redzel - the supreme Sprinter of the year. Can't see why he won't do it again.
  • 3-Vega`Magic - I'll overlook last start and go with the great run in the Everest as my guide.
  • R9:
  • 3- Gailo Chop - Very impressive form round top-liners. Will give a great sight.
  • 7-Folkswood - Everything points to this one being too good today, a benefit day for Kieran McEvoy .
  • R10:
  • 2- Muraaqeb - Looks  very good chance today at reasonable odds.
  • 5- Tamasa - Picket-fence` formline (well..2 from 2 anyway).  Drawn '1' and could be too strong.

Good luck, Robert.

Great luck to all my Mighty Blues Brothers. Let's bring it home, despatch another team to the side-lines.
