I am guessing by your posting that you are one of life's under achievers & resent anyone who has attempted to better themselves. Pleased you are happy to settle for mediocre, that's exactly the sort of attitude that has racing in the can right now.

Barry if you are so bloody clever, what have you ever done to help racing?

More so a healthy dose of Asian money

I have a business looking after properties on a monthly basis, all in Auckland's more affluent suburbs, Epsom, Mt Eden, Remuera, Kohimarama etc etc

Over the last 3 years, we've allowed the business to drop by natural attrition, as we get older and move into other more sedentary income streams.  Used to be approx 50 customers, now 20, with the 30 we have dropped off, being because of the property owners selling.

ALL approx 30 sales have been to Asian buyers, most of whom can't speak English, so leave it up to their children to communicate.

So when you hear the Nats saying only 3% of sales in Auckland are to overseas buyers, you start to wonder what they are trying to hide, and how they have manipulated the data

Have to agree with you there Hesi--and it is not immigrants filling job vacancies that are buying the houses, rather non-working speculators who I would hazard a guess did not accumulate their wealth selling spring rolls and dim sums!

I have membership to a few clubs, attend a shit load of meeting every year across the country. I have 4 horses in work in both the North & South Islands & have owned in excess of 20 in the last 10 years & in all bar maybe 1 or 2 cases I have or had the largest shareholding.

I will be at Hastings on Sunday & will be departing early Monday to get back for Te Rapa.

So in answer to your question I have  poured in a shit load of money into Racing.

& frankly its f--kwits like you that often make me resent doing so, if it means supporting the likes of you.

Do you know what barry, you were quick to accuse me of racism before, but you are obviously sexist judging by your posts....you must be retired and made your money before the house prices went mad and the asians swamped us, I would really worry for my daughter when she grows up if I knew she would have buy a house (she will inherit mine) with shit pay and high house prices due to the cheap Asian labour and rich Asians dominating real estate. I have always been a national supporter, but john key and bill English have sold nz down the river. And calling every one an f-wit because you're unhappy with the new government shows what a complete twat you really are!

No FU not retired, in my mid 40’s. Just a person who has got of his arse, worked smart, gone without plenty early on, lived in small town NZ in an ex state house.  Lived in rented shit holes & ate off the ironing board for years, took notice of smart intelligent sucessful people and worked to a goal.

Yeah ditto barry, I have worked hard all my life, late forties born north shore Auckland, lived in u.k for 20 years come back to nz, the places where I used to ride our horses with my sister and go fruit picking as a kid are all shops now with Chinese writing on the signs! a lot of people haven't been born in a small town barry, where wages mirror real estate prices or the Asian invasion has hit home, its quality of life, not how much money and property you have accumulated when you die!

Agree it’s all about quality, instead of getting yourself all bent up with your anti Asian stance, why don’t you free up some capital and shift to a lovely costal city like New Plymouth, Napier or Blenheim, maybe. Timaru. Get yourself a job like stacking supermarket shelves on a night sift, kick back and enjoy life instead of stressing about the. Asian invasion.

really cheap asian labour  are they getting paid below the minimum  and how can you blame english and key      why didnt previous govts stop  foreign people buying properties  that where previously lived in as aust does unless its new or being developed they cant buy it .  but i bet few of you complaining had a house in auckland and an asian came along and offered you an exorbitant price you would tie him to front gate till the cheque cleared ,    or really dont sell any horses to them

Mate you are delusional, the only phenomena is how an electoral system lets a bird become Prime Minister with 2/3 of the public not wanting her to be. I am hoping like fark we never see such stupidity from our elected representatives again in our lifetimes so agree there. I am inclined to agree there is a chance she will become one of our most loathed PM's in a short pace of time & be one of the quickest to be ousted in our history, I also think she is more like the nail polish remover that softens the lot and they fall apart quickly.

There we go we have some common ground.

The Aussies apparently agree Barry....;)

laugh at the Australian media, look what Australia has got as their leader  backstabber.

Winston has put mmp back onto the track it was meant,

now watch national try and reintroduce, first past the post again.

Winston by going with labour  right or wrong call we will find out but

it was a much needed call, not for the well off, rich or wealthy inports, farmers and those wannabes.

but for the working class of nz, the pensioners/unemployed, low income  earners, tose living under bridges,in cars, those like earthquake victims that are

waiting for their houses to be fixex, those famailies of pike river victims the list just goes on and on and on.

all of these people have gone without while the rich and well off have tripled their nests.

although I was not born in the 1930's to witness the great depression, I feel in modern time we have experienced a false economy, developed by those mega rich

capitalists  and it now under mmp, has finally had it's bubble burst.

I voted mmp, mistake ? on the info we were all given at the time, no. but it was national that changed the ,then format of mmp to whatit is today...

it has clearly bitten the hand that feeds it..

I voted NZF, both party/list, as I said I would be doing from day one, in clutha /southland , the national party retained the seat BUT we also now have a list MP.

mark Patterson of NZF.  welcome, and welcome back to Winston peters and the greens and nz labour party.. I unlike some, will give you all the time you need,

to right many wrongs that have been cast upoun the people of this country by capitalism greed.

and I won't backstab any of them I will give them a fair go, to do their job... I will keep them honest however just like most

good people of nz will.

When are you guys going to get over it.  We have a set of electoral rules that everyone has played to.

Just because you don't like the result, shall we have another election, or why don't we just have a dictatorship, so we can lock up the people we don't like or disagree:)

We'll get over it in three years after this motley crew have been found out and the smiling has worn off.....:D

Luca, you are one of the people who have failed to understand MMP, your electorate vote for NZF was completely wasted if you wanted to change anything.

Have a look at Nick Smith's electorate and you can really see how stupid the left bloc of voting is, Labour/Greens electorate vote together would have wiped Nick out, yet the idiots split it so badly that he waltzed back in.

Whilst MMP has produced on the whole good stable Govt, it has failed miserably in the public's understanding of how to use it wisely to get what you want.

We have. This government has been dictated by someone who could not even win his electoral seat and party gained only 7% of the vote.

Yeah it didn't help when the greens were making up polls in Nelson which tended to confuse people as to who the best chance to beat him was.

Their policies are plain dumb and I can't understand how you socialists who are well off (you race and breed horses don't you) dont understand that one way or another you are to have to reach even deeper into your pockets.

I'm still waiting for Insider to explain how Winnie is going to deliver affordable housing but let's look closer at the "free tertiary education."

Estimated to cost $6 billion.  Bang there goes tax cuts.

Suddenly everyone finds it much easier to go to university to do a BA (known as a Bugger All) in my day.  No job at the end of it but I guess you could aspire to be PM now afterall you didn't need to have had a proper job to do that.

Woops looks we have a problem Jacinda says Robertson.  The unis don't have the capacity nor the lecturers.  Ok Grant tax the rich pricks more and build bigger unis and import more lecturers.  Well with the last task Jacinda we'd have to increase immigration and housing in Auckland.  Or we could reduce investment in university  research for example we don't really need those specialist horse units and we don't need those pasture and diary experts as they only pollute the place.  Good idea G a policy that knocks off two problems at once.

Well maybe Grant we need to reduce the supply of students raise the entry qualifications for them.  Well J that's a bit now as we got rid of National Standards.  Perhaps we could establish quotas you know like the South African Rugby Union does and fix the racial and gender issue at the same time.

And on and on it goes...

You socialist race horse owners think the Government is going to fix racing?  As the Ad goes "you're dreaming mate"....

The only reason the minor parties got power under MMP, is that one Leader made herself available to the biggest Loser and he got 60% of his party into the Ministry! 60% ! It's a joke. He gets 60% of his party into the Ministry yet the party that won the most seats in the Election get none! How does that make MMP work? A circus. Watch the debt meter go thru the roof. If you thought the Richter Scale went thru the roof during the CHCH quakes, you've seen nothing yet and to find $6b for free education, it has to be paid for. More Tax! Then there's other spending = more tax! Better start hiding it folks.

Trump National is the party of borrow and hope. Labour the party of tax and hope. Bill English was a debt junkie happily mainlining on overseas borrowing. Future generations will be paying back these loans forever. As a socialist racehorse owner I am happy to pay more tax NOW rather than have future generations quagmired in debt to our overseas masters.
