45yearsofharness 173 Report post Posted October 17, 2017 Good to see he is finally been given some drives from his fathers team. Not aware of why he hasn't been given the chance before. 175 drives only 3 wins behind dads horses, from only a handful of drives. Mark would not be where is is today, if it was not for his father. Go Nathan, Im on your team!! Wannabearacecafer
eljay 1,711 Report post Posted October 17, 2017 Didn't he work elsewhere (Cran)? I mean, would you employ Tim Williams and use someone else from outside the stable? I know "blood is thicker" but .......
Double R 260 Report post Posted October 17, 2017 Hi Eljay, Yes, he has worked for other trainers in NZ and Australia. In fact earlier this year he trained Ohoka Punter in Australia to win races. It is probably only in the last 3-4 months that he has started working for his father again. Cheers. Robert.

45yearsofharness 173 Report post Posted October 17, 2017 Sure, but working in another stable does not mean you cant drive in any other stable.
eljay 1,711 Report post Posted October 17, 2017 What do you think Tim would think if his employer used "outside" driver and he watched from the sideline. Afterall Tim's no mug, is he!

Thats your opinion but i see it quite differently in terms of ability, hes right up there with the best in butchering them which is reflected in how many quality drives he gets these days from Mark and Nat BackPoonDrinkGoon

Lee270744 682 Report post Posted October 17, 2017 Tim found it hard driving with a recent shoulder operation and he not alone at butchering them. Isn't everyone you back and get beaten is butchered?

Zero Tolerance 4 Report post Posted October 29, 2017 If you go back to when Mark was a junior he wasn’t driving for his father or Barry he was working in Aussie getting experience from outside stables. The Purdons don’t pamper their kids they send them out to experience the world for awhile. Then they take them under their wing and teach them Fartoomuch
