Methven has had 5 inches of rain in the past week so it will be a battle for both punters and horses on that track.

Perfect day today and good weather including some nor' west winds over the next two days will have the track near perfect. The battle for punters will be real though - big fields always create a bit of an extra challenge - and some very even fields too. The track was mowed on Tuesday , had a light shower last night and has norwesters forecast for tomorrow. As we all know methven is the best grass track in the country and will be in perfect order for Sunday. See you there

Good effort to collect that much - on what I thought was a touch day to string much together. Well done to the Club on getting so many entries
Eclipsed 250 Report post Posted October 9, 2018 We go again this Sunday competing for the Brown Pub Methven Punter of the YearCup run as part of the KPC competition. Many thanks to Big Ed for bringing our Cup along to last Friday's KPC heat at The Met. Big Ed has said he's in again to defend however that's only been done once before. At the Addington heat last week there were 5 previous winners of the Methven trophy present, in the room. Our inaugural winner some 10 years ago was The Whale and friends, however since then, Westview who's won 3 times, is the only multiple winner. Venue for this year's comp has moved to the Mt Hutt Lounge - situated near the parade ring. Register there and our 1st race kicks off at 12.07. Throughout the day we will continue to provide plenty of food and beverage for teams of up to 4. Be great to have your participation in what's a true stayer's test in our punting comp. Do not poison the thread with that name, hes in a far better place now telling his stories to his 2 person fan club. The man i referred to is the one and only DB, great beer and great tipster. Some say hes a human bloodhound, keeps his nose to the ground to get the bully on course and delivers the goods to his SI based disciples scooby3051
westview 155 Report post Posted October 10, 2018 Starting to do the study, but my best advice is throw the form book out the window, keep your ear to the ground and stick to those locals.
