Perhaps the "rumour mill" is wrong...?

So your saying the reason why the part of official HRNZ website  which publishes TC02 levels relating to jewels day is missing is because there is a cover up as a result of positive.    Surely the cover up of having no transparency would be even worse than the actual positives.  Maybe you should email the RIU and ask them why the omission and let us know their response.   Have they ever officially announced the 4 supposed positives from around the same time at nelson?

If its true then its just another cover up until they work out the PR spin to minimize it, If its not  then they just feed the monster of cynicism which they create with their policy of non disclosure.  What they have effectively done here is lead people to believe they have covered  up no matter what they end up saying, They have proved in the past as regards media comment that they work with those who get positives, not against.

I have heard quite a few rumours about Jewels day, including the latest one that about a dozen tests were mixed up and 2 of those were positive but they have no way of knowing who they from. But rumours are rumours and i agree that about time HRNZ made some sort of statement.

Suggest you send Godber an email rather than posting unfounded rumours in here.    I'm sure he will answer you!

e-mailed RIU their reply is,the delay in publishing is because we are having issues in isolating the TCO2 results from all results of the various drug testing we did on the day .We are hopeful to have results on website within next ten days,we can confirm there were no positive results

As i've said before,  what's the point in hrnz spending all that money on tc02 levels when clearly they are an ineffective way of catching anymore.    I'm guessing its so they can point to the results  proving harness racing does not get positives.  Of course the last 12 months of charges by the leading south island stables shows that's not the case.  TC02 testing would be far more effective if done less, and more randomly in my opinion. It really comes down to why you are doing it.

How about random testing of entire stables for all banned substances?

Bit over the top I think. Not sure why you suggest that, seems a way spend too much money.

Retrospective testing of all samples held from a stable within the previous 3 months if said stable has a positive should be mandatory. Keeping of log books of medical treatment for each horse in training , they do it elsewhere.  Immediate notification to authorities of any horse that dies in training, then said authorities can make a decision as to whether to take tissue, hair samples.   Random out of training testing should be more common, but only of horses that are trialing or racing.  TC02 levels do sometimes seem a sign,so why not target those stables for random pre race visits or observations if they have a level over 34..

Won't happen of course, unless its someone authorities want to catch, which of course would rule out the big players unless it was another Geoff Small type personality.

results up now and samples were well mixed ,alot of horses had excatly the same reading ,compared to other reports

Do agree. The levels shown are noticeably low.  if you' follow these readings you could not help being struck by how unusually only 1 was above 31.0.    If you don't agree just look at other figures previously published for similar numbers tested.

this is a case of not telling the whole truth and one white lie leading to another.think they used a random raffle selector to select levels or samples were mixed in  batches of six, results just don,t look right

Who would know, however if you follow these results it always looks like the levels are a bit higher for some on premier days/nights so you can see why the questions about the jewels results.

So compare the results from counting the numbers shown over the last 3 months on the hrnz website. If you look at the levels  31.00 or over where they have tested over 25 horses that week. They read    8 from 36 tested

                                                                                                                                                          16 from 36

                                                                                                                                                           10 from 32

                                                                                                                                                           14 from 48

                                                                                                                                                            11 from 44

                                                                                                                                                            11 from 26

then the jewels                1 from 34.
