Dave, just realised who the journo is for the article, enough said - a bloody fantasy writer

Just yesterday HDA wrote an article 100% in favour of JA so it would appear that she is only a fantasy writer when she doesn't agree with what you think.

Just wondering if the current rumours that abound at present about Fishboy are true, has he also been fired?

Asking for a friend.

In spite of rumours Ted apparently he is still at the trough! Reported to have been in attendance at Cindy's 40th at Gusto last week. It was probably getting pretty close to the cops being wheeled out again to quell the rumour. My "man in Wellington" assures me there is more to come including "inter-Party" fluid exchange! Pass on my best to your friend who is probably missing those defunct women's mags!

Believe me, I am no fan of Lees-G, the twat who gave Shroubek residency and ponces around with yet another ridiculous hybrid surname. But, he won't be the last male to be ensnared by the hairy lasso, and in his defence the woman involved was just as culpable in the relationship deception. She knew he was married and obviously welcomed his attention for her own ends. She was no victim of power imbalance. IMO

The fact Chloe Swarbrick is anywhere near such a poll tells you all you need to know...🙄

...was about to mention that, Ohokaman ... what the hell is Chloe Dreamlady doing in that list? And why isn't James Shaw there?

I take comfort in seeing the 1.4% 'result' ..even more comfort from the Margin of Error 3.1% ...and the most comfort from seeing Winnie polling less than the Dreamboat

The devious Weasel mind thinks this sacking has little or nothing to do with Workplace Relations and everything to do with something more sinister. Don't be surprised if L-G cops a bigger serve from the 'investigation'.

3.1% margin of error??????

What about the 52.2% difference between the two Newshub polls????

Why would you form an opinion on polls when it shows they are rigged?

I must have perhaps been overseas at the wrong times but I cannot remember the partisan media  fawning over Bolger, Clark, Key birthdays the way they are over Ardern. Wait for a Mallard-led extravaganza in the Beehive. Nauseous behaviour. Expect the kid to be "pimped-out" for the occasion.🇳🇿

The reality is Dave she made an immediate call, which people will totally respect, no 48 hour delay or suppression of facts and therein is the difference

Lees-Galloway will be tied in with more dodgy immigration matters.

What's the bet he signed off contracts related to Covid19.

Aaron Martin is an Immigration lawyer who denied the Hattie family to see their parent before he passed away.

Martin's focus clientele from info online appears to be primarily that of the Indian race.

Note which Hotel/ motels have been used for Quarantine and who owns them / the businesses operating them - Pandey & Sudesh Jhunjnuwala who link back to Ashraf Choudrey (MP).

Both of these families are creaming it at the people of New Zealand's expense, including the proposed payments by those who will be required to pay Quarantine fees.

Pandey operates Sofitel in Auckland, they received Gvt subsidy for wages and are now refurbishing it - effectively at our expense.

Why haven't those Government Tenders been advertised on GETS website?

https://www.gets.govt.nz/ExternalIndex.htm

Note the tenders related to PPE  and Coronavirus/ Covid19 contracts

Ministry of Health have had hands on knowledge of this so called Coronavirus / Covid19 since at least January,

It's inexcusable that those contracts even exist when we have always had Gvt regulations pertaining to people been infected or having medical matters prior to stepping on a carriage of any type to venture offshore.

Ms Jacinda Ardern and her MP's and Govt Department Heads together with her Science Advisors have much to be accountable for.

It's overdue that Siouxsie Wiles is  hauled over the coals for referring to herself & been called a Doctor.

She has a Doctorate which is massively different to being a qualified medical specialist /General Practitioner who face to face examines & gets to know their patients circumstances & health issues as required under a Hippocratic Oath.

Wiles is a Mircobiologist & should not be permitted to tell people to go get tested for Coronavirus just bc she thinks everyone should get tested.

The whole situation has been blown massively out of proportion thanks to access to Metadata by university academics.

Btw, there's a recent decision from the European Courts relating to the collection & sharing of data btwn the EU & UK...

ohhh sheesh, looks like NZ are once again way behind there legal obligations to the people of New Zealand & their rights to privacy.

Ardern Is Adversely Ambitious

By JC

Jacinda Ardern is digging a COVID hole for herself, a hole that gets bigger with each passing day. The strategies she has put in place for eliminating the virus are not sustainable in the longer term. The reality is that at some point, she is going to have to face the facts. When that point comes she will need options and the truth is that there won’t be any. What will then become evident is that millions will have been spent on a lost cause.

The way she is playing this is, as usual, all about her global image and desire for control. This is how socialism operates. Socialists in power are to a greater or lesser degree, dictators. It is the only way they can implement their anti-democratic policies. They create a climate of fear which makes it easier to enact their control mechanisms. In that sense, COVID was a godsend for Ardern.

If the polls are to be believed her strategy is working. Eighty-two per cent of the population believe her to be the most trusted politician. It appears that the sheep in this country are not confined to the paddocks. We evidently have a two-legged variety on the loose wandering the streets. It is a worry that people can’t see through her dangerous plan of action. Millions of taxpayers dollars are being spent covertly so as to further her socialist ideals.

If anyone thinks otherwise they are ignorant as to what is going on in the world of left-wing politics. Blacks Lives Matter has got nothing to do with black lives. It is a cause the Marxist Communist lefties have latched onto to use as a vehicle to achieve their real aim of destroying capitalism. The fact that if they achieved their aim, they would be worse off, either doesn’t occur to them or they don’t care. It’s all about envy and destroying the “rich pricks”.

It’s obvious from the poll numbers that most people would laugh if you told them this is the path Ardern is taking the country down. Here’s a warning for them. If she gets to govern alone or with the Greens, minus the self anointed handbrake, make no mistake we are on the road to full blown socialism. Those of us who can afford it will be taxed into oblivion. In other words, the road to social equality. Also the road to the third world.

The problem for Jacinda is the point where economic factors will demand a halt to her COVID controlling strategies. It is unrealistic to think that hotel isolation can continue indefinitely. It is unrealistic to think that the borders will be closed indefinitely. It is also unrealistic to think that COVID will be gone anytime soon. Albert Ko, an epidemiologist at Yale, says it is likely the virus will be with us year round for years to come. Michael Ryan, Director of WHO’s emergencies programmes says it may never go away.

This is where Ardern is digging her hole. From the start, she has put all her eggs in the health basket to get the global headlines. Probably sooner rather than later the economic chickens will come home to roost. By her actions, she has highlighted the Government’s ignorance of all matters economic. She will find she made a big mistake by not considering the economic ramifications of her decision making. It doesn’t matter what you are dealing with, you can’t divorce yourself from the possible economic fallout.

Here’s the thing. Those with the socialist mindset, like Ardern, are not interested in economic fallout. Tax the rich pricks is their answer. When you run out of their money, then what? The socialists don’t have an answer to that because they’re not programmed to think that far ahead. Their answer to everything is borrow and spend with no idea how they’re going to pay it back. This is what is happening now.

It’s obviously of no concern to the Government as they haven’t bothered to progress a plan whereby we get out of the hole. How long is hotel isolation and closed borders going to last? In all probability not as long as the virus, or the country will be bankrupt. The Government can’t keep supporting businesses struggling through lack of tourists and overseas students for years ahead. It’s just not practical or realistic. The longer it takes Ardern to reach the conclusion that she’s eventually going to hit a brick wall, the bigger the hit and the bigger the mess economically. When that day comes I wonder if her trust factor will still show eighty-two per cent?

If it does, then we really are a country of baa-baa black sheep. No worries though as I’m sure Jacinda believes that black sheep lives matter.

A Government of Drunken Sailors

Spending Like There Is No Tomorrow Is Not An Economic Plan

By Christie

There was a lot to admire about the Australasian banks during the GFC. While the USA had its Freddie Macs and Fannie Maes, and the Bank of Scotland just about went broke, the banks in Australia and New Zealand never faltered. They had never really joined in the global party of lending to people who didn’t have a hope in hell of repaying the loans; they maintained their strict criteria of minimum deposits and scrutiny of lenders to ensure their debt books remained valuable, and we saw the benefit of that in New Zealand. While other countries were seeing runs on their banks and banks were collapsing all over the planet, we were fine. We had no problem at all, and it is one of the things that made the GFC so much more bearable here than overseas.

Nothing has changed in the local banking world. The Reserve Bank does not allow retail banks to make more than 20% of their residential mortgage lending to borrowing owner-occupiers with less than 20% deposit. For investors, only 5% of loans can be low-deposit. The rules are strict. These rules protect borrowers, as those with low equity can often become overstretched financially, and are prone to economic shocks, such as a recession or an increase in interest rates. The rules also protect the banking system in the event of a significant fall in housing values or an economic downturn. It may mean that some people miss out on mortgage finance but these are usually the ones who are borderline anyway who might have ended up defaulting, or in the unfortunate position of being subject to mortgagee sale.

What a shame the same rules of financial prudence don’t seem to apply to the government.

Government debt, after years of sound fiscal management by the previous National government, is now spiralling out of control, and is likely to reach 50% of GDP before long. Whichever way you look at it, this is unsustainable.

Yes, COVID-19 has caused most countries to increase public debt, but many such countries do not have such a high level of private sector debt. But the government is spending like there is no tomorrow, and is spending money that, of course, we do not have.

When they announced last December that they were going to increase borrowing for large infrastructure projects, part of the reasoning behind this was the historically low-interest rates at the time. While rates are still low, government borrowing now is more on revenue account — to pay wage subsidies, for quarantine programmes and to bring refugees into the country. There is no long term value in this. It is splashing money around favoured businesses, pet projects and just about anything else they can think of. Benefits have been increased, money is made available to the universities for the loss of their international students, and don’t forget all those people being housed in motels. Not an infrastructure programme in sight.

They don’t even seem to care. When put under pressure (by the National party) to charge returning residents for their quarantine costs — currently at about $400 per person per day — they eventually came up with a half-hearted programme of charging only people returning from holiday, while the quarantine programme overall is estimated to be costing $500 million. That’s half a billion dollars, and their new scheme for charging returning holidaymakers will raise an estimated $9 or $10 million if we are lucky. Boy, I just hope those overseas votes are worth $490 million.

This government’s idea of crisis management is to splash money in all directions. It cannot continue. Not only do they not have a plan to get the economy moving but they also have recently announced (the Labour arm of the government at least) that they are not going to announce any major policies this election.

Many of us will know, of course, that at the last election, they announced a whole raft of transformational policies and then failed to implement any of them. This time, they are not even going to try. They are hoping to win the election by sitting back on their laurels and expecting everyone to vote for them because they are just so good. And kind. Don’t forget kind.

As we go further and further into economic recession, with over 200,000 people unemployed so far and more redundancies to come, the government needs an economic plan. It doesn’t have one. As its tax revenues start to reduce, they need a programme that grows the economy, which will also grow the tax take. This will require major economic reform, the likes of which we have not seen for some time. They have no idea how to do it.

The government is using COVID-19 as an excuse to ramp up the usual socialist spending agenda, but their biggest problem is going to be falling tax revenues, and we all know what the result of that will be. It looks as if the government is deliberately avoiding the discussion of increased taxes before the election so that they can put up taxes once they have been re-elected. Then they will simply blame COVID. The pandemic has played brilliantly into this socialist government’s hands, and many people will fall for it and simply accept the tax increases. But remember what we said when this government first came to power; we said that it will only be a matter of time before they embark on a wasteful tax and spend fiscal policy, because socialists simply cannot help themselves. Well, here we are. And it may take decades to recover from it.

Why are you pointing the finger at the govt?if the rest of the world had done half as much as what we did then trade and borders would be back to normal, we did the hard yards and are now only held back by other countries lack of action or incompetent leadership to make the decisions for ALL their people, not just businesses. We are ready to go as a country and it is not our fault that aussie, usa, europe and asia.......are not.
