No it’s not you idiot. The only reason Ardern got into power was because Peters went with Labour rather than National.

Why ? Because he held a personal grudge against them, it certainly wasn’t to benefit New Zealanders. And here we are…..

Twisted is right……😠

He can't even be deemed a fruit loop. That'd be an insult to all genuine fruit loops. 6xes is just beyond all descriptions and reasoning.

anyone remember MU ?   🤣

The fact that omicron is just as placid, so they had to invent the 100 times more infectious b/s.

They made a serious marketing error, calling it Omi, b/c most people were like what the f is THAT. Not like easily relatable delta ...

But surely this crap is over soon. Then we will get a say about the sentences and punishments for those that forced this crap on us.

Me personally, the first thing would be to take Neve away from that bitch for 3 months, nothing bad, just stashed with aunty up in the bush, then maybe she would know how really destructive she has been to the whanau of this country.  ;)

The issue about Omicron up here isn't its severity but its rate of transmission which seems well above that of Delta.

That means you get more people infected but fewer need hospital care but the net effect seems to be about or slightly less than Delta. In the UK we were up around 120,000 positive tests yesterday suggesting there's a lot of Omicron about but death numbers aren't rising and hospitalisation numbers are rising much more slowly than positive case numbers again suggesting for the vast majority Omicron is a milder variant.

However, we still have a significant minority of unvaccinated and it seems those with two vaccinations aren't in a good position so the rush has been to get booster vaccinations into people (the horribly-named "jingle jab"). Unfortunately, it now seems the efficacy of the booster vaccination begins to wane after just 10 weeks so a number of the elderly who got their booster in the early autumn are more at risk than they were.

It's quite possible the Omicron "wave" will rapidly peak and burn itself out though I suspect we aren't quite there yet. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have re-introduced some restrictions with a much lighter touch in England so far.

With a significant elderly population, some of whom will have other underlying health conditions, even a mild dose of Omicron may mean hospitalisation so there's real concern if families mix over Christmas and the virus spreads through the generations.

@stodgeHave they started to disclose which age brackets these people who are alleged to be getting Omicron are?

Also , if it is what was claimed to be originally established in South Africa, is it more likely to be South African migrants who are getting it?

We noticed that with Delta it coincided with the Indian community who tend to work in Countdown stores..and information that was provided to the media by various one's directly involved with the Covid situation..

Incidentally, the names they have given them are also where those stars are from in the night skies dating back to the 1800's.

Funny that!

Don't stress, we all have health matters and get sick at some stage of out lives and then die.

It's been interesting how some are still so fearful, yet others are totally over all the fearmongering and getting on with living life as we all should be.

@Archer, take away Internet capable devices from her to would be a good thing.

Btw, why are Politicians and Scientists and Healthcare providers spending such vast amounts of Taxpayer funded time on the internet and not working?

Going back to the very start of Coronavirus and the over reliance on Facebook and Social Media by those calling the shots.

How could any person not do basic Fact checking of information?

The coffins shown all over the media were from the Lampedusa Boat people drownings in 2013, NOT that of people who were claimed by whoever it was, dying of Coronavirus in Bergamo Italy which is in a different YEAR, LOCATION and DISASTER.

Illegal boat people Migrants arriving various places in Europe where they have had endless problems since the demise of the borders around 20 years ago whilst a problem for all of us, is something that there are pre-existing laws already in place without shutting down international travel to law abiding healthy citizens across the other side of the world and those innocently going about their lives.

There's a better way.

The blame fair and square for those whole nightmare disaster goes back to D GRADE amateurs dishing out advice who clearly didn't learn the basics at Primary School.

From 3 December 2013 and Saliva Test Kits

Does anyone know if these Saliva Test Kits can really establish which 'variant' of Covid19/ Coronavirus a person is claimed to have if they can't get the basics even complied with?

Ditto what Genomes they are?

Note. the FDA called for a stop to this in 2013

Note also links to Youtube,  Google Alphabet, Epidemiologist in the Wojcicki family, 23and Me - yes the company that claims to link people with their DNA & Ancestors  and detect Health defects - not sure but by the year 2023 those who provide services for IVF Babies are supposed to comply with a number of Regulations they haven't been and are understood to be linked to this set up.

Asking for a friend if they like a few others in the Tech related fields have been misusing there positions of power on the people in the wider world to fund Debts incurred through their Trials and misleading Marketing / Sales claims.

Who funded them in the first place as Start Ups?

Just a wee axe to grind with those who Question their credibility by the looks of it.

Have these people stopped to ask themselves how the wider public feel been treated in such repeatedly degrading manners?

We will not ever forgive Miss Wiles treatment towards an elderly Blind Gentleman who she told in week 5 2020 on ZB Radio session with Steven McIvor, that he was not to have anyone come into his home, this despite the fact he told her he had NO one do his cleaning or home help for 5 weeks already.

What type of person would dare say that to any other Human Being in any country. least of all a Blind man living on his own who clearly was reliant on much needed care?

Our own personal opinion is she has acted well outside of her Scope of Practice, Qualifications and expertise and the chickens have come home to roost, just like with her father, Graham Wiles , Cardboard to Caviar scam in the UK.

She also has a very short memory as we recall the abuse she dished out to an Australian Politician about associates of hers been denied FUNDING.

As for Shaun Hendy, we know the house he lives in well from years before he purchased it.

Both being on the Board they are have legal requirements to adhere to like any other person on a Board.

Sarwar Danish, the former second vice president of Afghanistan, has been granted resettlement in New Zealand, raising questions about the reasons behind the decision.

Sarwar Danish, the former second vice president of Afghanistan, has been granted resettlement in New Zealand, raising questions about the reasons behind the decision.

A former vice president of Afghanistan and 13 family members have arrived in New Zealand after the Government granted them resettlement – and some local Afghans are not happy about it.

Stuff understands that Sarwar Danish – the second vice president in the administration of Afghanistan’s former president, Ashraf Ghani – flew into Auckland around Christmas with his wife, two sons and three daughters.

Sources say two of Danish’s daughters and one of his sons brought their spouses, and four children between them.

Associate immigration minister Phil Twyford confirmed that “Sarwar Danish and his family have been given safe haven in New Zealand”.

Speaking to Stuff this week from an MIQ hotel, one of his family confirmed that Danish and his family members had arrived in New Zealand from Turkey.

Stuff contacted Danish at another MIQ hotel, however he speaks limited English and was not able to answer questions.

The arrival of Danish and his family comes after Immigration Minister Kris Faafoi ruled out reopening resettlement applications for Afghans who worked with New Zealand during the war in Afghanistan – some of whom are at risk of reprisals from the Taliban.

The Government announced the resettlement process after the Taliban seized power, but applications were closed on August 25.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the Government was considering offering help to a broader group of Afghans to reside "elsewhere", the first confirmation it might take more refugees from Afghanistan. (First published September 21, 2021)

The decision to accept the former vice-president and 13 family members has provoked confusion and anger among local Afghans that Stuff has spoken to, including a number who served with the New Zealand Defence Force.

An Afghan member of the New Zealand SAS unit based in Kabul from 2009-2012 said Afghans who worked with the NZDF should have been prioritised for resettlement – not people like Danish, who he said shared responsibility for the collapse of Afghanistan’s government.

“It’s very frustrating that someone from the corrupt leadership of Afghanistan – with zero connection to New Zealand – has been resettled in this country, when people who directly supported the New Zealand SAS have been left behind,” he said.

“He was already safe in Turkey, so it would be hard to understand if Kiwi taxpayers are paying for Danish and his family to start a new life in New Zealand.”

Other Afghans with links to the New Zealand SAS told Stuff that Colonel Abdul Ghaffar Hotak, the former deputy commander of the Afghan government’s Crisis Response Unit, which the SAS trained and fought with from 2009-2012, had been recently killed by the Taliban.

He said it was “shameful and disgraceful” that Danish and his family members had been resettled in New Zealand when men like Hotak had been abandoned.

In his statement, Twyford said that Danish’s position on human rights was a factor in his admission to New Zealand.

Twyford said the Government had provided safe haven to around 200 Afghans whose lives were at extreme risk from the Taliban. That included female judges, journalists, human rights workers, NGO leaders, women’s rights advocates, LGBTQI, “and some politicians who stood up for human rights like Sarwar Danish”.

Tens of thousands of Afghans who fled Kabul as the Taliban took over are currently in countries without visas to stay there. Twyford said that some of the Afghans who New Zealand has supported had come from third-party countries where they had no visas allowing them to stay.
