Auckland to Government: We’re Over It

This government seems oblivious to what is going on in Auckland. We are supposed to be in level three but the reality is quite the opposite. There is no level three, apart from the closure of businesses, not even remotely level two. In my neck of the woods around the village, there is just one big traffic jam. Cars, trucks, motorbikes and boats are all jamming up the road. To Ardern, Robertson, Hipkins and the conglomeration of modellers and health experts here’s some advice: you are all wasting your time.

The fact is, nobody is now interested in the plaintive pleas to keep in your bubble, picnic with a maximum of ten from two households, don’t use the inside loo and don’t chat to your neighbour. These and other kindergarten edicts are insults to those of us lucky enough to have been blessed with some grey matter. This nonsense is nothing more than a cover-up for a government whose lack of talent has been severely exposed by Covid.

Encouraging people to get vaccinated is fair enough, but on its own it falls far short of what is required. That in itself, is not a plan. A plan is an all-encompassing roadmap with a defining course of action showing the how and the when. In Auckland, where such a plan is sorely needed, there is none to be seen and this can only be due to the government’s inability to construct one.

This government should be thrown out for what amounts to sheer negligence.

If it were a private company it would by now be in receipt of a court summons. This incompetent regime is allowing private businesses to go to the wall. Not one MP in this government has so far recognised this – or if they have, they have yet to do one solitary thing about it. They keep saying they’re business-friendly. Well let me be clear: Being friendly is of little use when you don’t understand anything about business, which clearly they don’t.

The Finance Minister seems to think his wage subsidy ($600 per week for a full time employee) is sufficient. It will help a little for a short time by keeping employees employed but the employer is required to pay 80% of the usual wages. Meaning – most employers are having to top up the wage subsidy while still paying rates, rent, power, insurance and all the other monthly outgoings. How does Grant Robertson think these people are coping with no money coming in? Giving little to no assistance to business owners is hardly friendly.

Of course, the government gets to pick its friends to support. Who can stay open and who gets the real grants. Like the media, the blowhards who contribute nothing to the productivity of the country. There seems to be plenty of our money to throw at them to keep the narrative flowing. If most of them had been left to go out of business like everyone else, the country would be better off. Buying the media is socialism at its worst: The key to keeping the government’s fear factor alive.

It worked the first time around. We were all fearful of the unknown. But not so much this time. We’ve moved on. Unfortunately the government hasn’t. Its pitiful rules are falling on deaf ears in Auckland.

For all the pain inflicted on Auckland business, the worst of Covid is clearly yet to come. They’ve painted themselves into a corner where whatever they do they will cop a backlash. The lockdown has to stop at some point: sooner rather than later if the rest of the world is anything to go by.

It is inconceivable that shops will be closed in the lead up to Christmas and regardless of what government does, there will still be more Covid. This will raise the obvious question about the value of lockdowns and why businesses have been forced to miss out on months of trading. For what?

Is it really all just a deliberate ploy to implement a Marxist agenda?

Using fear to control the population is a trademark of socialist governments and Ardern’s history and background suggest she’s well schooled in the techniques.

The politicians and their advisers live in a sheltered world where the weekly pay cheque rolls in regardless and responsibility and accountability seem to be neither required nor understood.

By and large, Aucklanders getting on with their daily lives while they wait for the retail sector to open. They are largely ignoring the pontifications from the pulpit and really have had enough. What they want is a plan from the government and in the absence of one are making their own. They do realise that no matter what they do, the case numbers will rise and they are now awake to the fact that living with Covid is the only realistic option.

It’s past time the government did likewise.

COVID Wins

 

 

US President Ronald Reagan’s famous expression, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the Government, and I’m here to help” used to bring a chuckle from New Zealanders, who traditionally regarded ‘The Government’ as benign.

Not any more.

One of the first warning signs of Jacinda Ardern’s totalitarian tendencies came after the Christchurch Mosque attacks when the rights of law-abiding firearm owners were abolished without warning or consultation.

Then, in March last year, in an unprecedented response to the global pandemic, the whole country was forced into a lockdown. For the first time in our history, those fundamental democratic freedoms protected by the New Zealand Bill of Rights – including our freedom of association and movement – were suspended.

In an articleWhat Price Liberty and the Virus, written at the time, former Judge and law lecturer Anthony Willy expressed his concerns: “In a sinister twist loss of these rights is backed by an apparently highly popular government encouraged scheme of dobbing in one’s neighbour for possible infractions. At the time of the fall of the Berlin wall it was estimated that the membership of the Stasi was about 80,000 but that many times this number were unpaid informants assisting the Stasi to protect the state from infection with the very ideas and principles the government has suspended.”

We now have new vaccine mandates for teachers and health workers. That mandate renders meaningless clause 11 of the New Zealand Bill of Rights, which says: “Everyone has the right to refuse to undergo any medical treatment”.

The mandate also represents a total reversal of the pledge the Prime Minister made before the 2020 election. When asked by AM Show host Duncan Garner whether penalties would be used to force vaccines onto New Zealanders, the PM said, “No, and we haven’t for any vaccination in New Zealand applied penalties in that way… I see no reason to have penalties.”

Jacinda Ardern’s broken promise was largely unreported by the mainstream media. In fact, it’s hard to imagine any “free world” country having a more compliant, pro-government media than New Zealand has at the present time.

Let’s examine how we have arrived at this point where medical mandates overrule human rights.

Covid emerged early in election year, and the Ministry of Health guided New Zealand’s response, through the National Pandemic Plan. That plan was developed to deal with highly contagious airborne viruses, and was successfully used by John Key’s National Government during the 2009 swine flu pandemic.

The Plan involved managing the spread of infection, so as not to overwhelm health services, with the goal of developing natural population immunity – aided by vaccines, if and when they became available.

In March, assisted by some alarmist modelling and a $16 million budget for PR and communications consultants, Prime Minister Ardern took command. She ordered everyone into that first lockdown and changed New Zealand’s goal from managing the virus to ‘eliminating’ it.

Attempting to eradicate a highly contagious airborne virus, that was never going to be exterminated globally, was a contentious decision.

Nevertheless, the harsh lockdown worked and not only was Jacinda Ardern celebrated around the world for “saving New Zealand”, she was re-elected with an absolute majority – something never before achieved under MMP.

But as predicted, the virus mutated, and Delta penetrated through the Government’s shambolic border security system. The going “hard and early” mantra had not been applied to the vaccine rollout, and New Zealand ended up with the lowest vaccine rate in the OECD. As a result, the country is vulnerable to the virus, and on-going lockdowns are crippling small business.

Following these developments from the UK is this week’s NZCPR Guest Commentator, journalist and author Ross Clark, who shares with us a critique of our PM’s performance that he wrote for the Daily Telegraph:

“New Zealand now is pretty well in the same position as Britain was in March 2020, with pockets of cases erupting into what threatens to become one large outbreak. What New Zealand has done for the past 18 months – attempt to become a Covid-free island by sealing its borders – never was an option in Britain’s case, just as continuing with a zero Covid policy is no longer a choice for New Zealand.

“Was New Zealand’s experiment worth it? If the country can get its vaccination rate up quickly it might very well be possible to argue that yes, it was – although the economic damage will still be massive. Unfortunately, however, Ardern’s government has not used its extra time to get ahead with vaccinations.

“That puts it among the very lowest of developed countries. Moreover, because Covid has been largely absent, very few people have acquired immunity through natural infection. The country is vulnerable, therefore, to the kind of explosive epidemic that Britain saw early on in the crisis.

“The world can finally see that zero Covid was a dead end which delayed but did not eliminate Covid, while drawing out the economic damage from repeated lockdowns as far as the eye can see.”

Ross describes and explains the vitriolic abuse he received when questioning our Prime Minister’s strategy:

“To many on the soft-left, Arden represented all that they advocated in a government: compassion, competence and vision. She was the living example of why we should have more women in charge of politics, business and everything else.”

He then points out the reality:

“If Ardern is a rock star, I’m afraid she has reached second album syndrome. What looked so clever to many people a year ago no longer looks quite so smart.”

Here are some facts about the Pfizer vaccine – the only one available to New Zealanders. While traditional antigen vaccines inject inactivated virus material into the body to trigger the production of antibodies to fight the disease, Pfizer uses gene technology. The messenger RNA – part of the genetic code of the virus – that is contained in the vaccine instructs the body to make the viral spike protein, which then trains the immune system to identify and attack Covid-19.

The Pfizer vaccine has been given “provisional” approval by Medsafe to be used in New Zealand. The website documentation acknowledges the vaccine’s experimental status, with many key matters such as the duration of protection provided, still being determined through “ongoing clinical trials”.

As with any immunisation programme, information on any adverse events reported after vaccination is collated by Medsafe. Their website shows that by the end of September, over 5 million vaccinations have resulted in 22,832 adverse reactions, with 838 deemed to be “serious”. In addition, of the 75 deaths that have occurred following vaccination, investigations to date have attributed only one directly to the vaccine.

Medsafe’s risk management plan for Pfizer indicates the need for more safety data for those who are pregnant or have underlying health conditions. It is uncertainties such as this that have resulted in some Kiwis being extremely concerned about the Pfizer vaccine. Given their hesitancy, it would clearly be advisable for an alternative to be offered. Since the Government has announced its intention to purchase Novavax – a traditional antigen vaccine – as a booster, surely it would make sense to introduce it as soon as possible as an alternative to Pfizer.

Vaccines normally aim to achieve two goals: firstly, to protect the vaccinated person from the disease, and secondly, to prevent the spread of infection.

The Delta variant, which originated in India late last year and is now surging around the world, generates a far higher viral load and greater infectivity.

Because Pfizer was developed for the Wuhan strain of Covid-19, while it helps reduce the severity of infection in most people, it will not prevent the transmission of Delta.

So, knowing that, what advice does the Ministry of Health provide for Kiwis wanting to protect their families from Covid?

Very little, it seems.

A comprehensive Ministry of Health report on potential Covid-19 therapeutic treatment options, concludes, “There are no therapeutics currently approved in Aotearoa New Zealand for mild or moderate COVID-19 disease.”

In response to growing public concern about this lack of early treatments for Covid, Pharmac recently announced it has secured 60,000 doses of an experimental anti-viral medication called ‘molnupiravir’. In spite of limited safety trial testing, the drug will be made available to at-risk people with mild to moderate symptoms.

The Director General of Health, Dr Ashley Bloomfield has also discussed some early intervention options being considered by the Government, explaining that if drugs used for other purposes are found to have therapeutic benefits for treating Covid, they “can be prescribed to a Covid patient by a doctor, despite the drugs not being officially approved for that use.”

An exception is Ivermectin, a drug with known antiviral prophylactic and therapeutic qualities, that has been safely used all around the world for the past 30 years, but which New Zealand doctors have now been banned from prescribing for Covid.

With the Government now predicting thousands of community cases of Delta, with hospitals unable to cope, it’s important to be aware that both India and Indonesia, which recently experienced unprecedented Delta outbreaks, successfully brought the virus under control. Since neither case has been widely reported in the mainstream media, it is worth noting the details here.

When a Delta outbreak hit Uttar Pradesh, an Indian state of 240 million people, in early April, with cases growing exponentially and hospitals unable to cope, medical authorities added Ivermectin to India’s National Health Protocol, resulting in a dramatic decline in case numbers.

It was a similar story in Indonesia, the world’s fourth most populous country. Faced with a massive spike in Delta cases swamping hospitals in July, the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency granted Emergency Use Authorization for Ivermectin. The Indonesian President Joko Widodo ordered the National Defence Forces to distribute free health packs of Ivermectin and vitamins to vulnerable populations. From a peak of 57,000 new cases in a single day, cases declined sharply.

In spite of these results, and dozens of trials that are taking place around the world, the current advice from our Ministry of Health is: “The Australian Guideline, ISDA, and WHO recommend not using ivermectin outside of clinical trials as there is insufficient evidence to make a recommendation.”

Meanwhile our Government is racing to lift the vaccination rate before Delta becomes uncontrollable. In January, the Director-General of Health said the aim should be to have at least 70 per cent of the population vaccinated against Covid:

“The more people vaccinated … the more likely we can get that herd immunity effect where we stop any transmission within the community”.

The percentage of people who need to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity varies with the disease. According to the World Health Organisation, herd immunity against measles requires a 95 per cent vaccination rate. For polio, the threshold is about 80 per cent, and for Covid, between 60 and 70 per cent of a population needs to be immune to “really break the chain of transmission”.

But Jacinda Ardern is pushing for “90 per cent”. Does she see this as a pathway to again become a world leader in the fight against Covid?  Is 90 per cent more political than medical?

Delta is here, and most now accept it is here to stay. That requires a much more considered response than confining people to their homes. It also needs a much more reasoned approach to finding solutions for those who are hesitant about the Pfizer vaccine. Instead of villainising them and dismissing their concerns as misinformed, a better approach is to find solutions. One would have thought a Prime Minister who claims to be caring would have done this already.

The situation New Zealand is now in represents a real test for our Prime Minister. Will she continue the authoritarian divide and rule approach that Ronald Regan warned about, or will she finally realise that in a democracy true leadership involves protecting rights, not trampling them into the ground.

The Government Needs to Start Governing

This Can’t Go On. Businesses Will Be Devoid of Hope.

This government, like any other democratically elected government, was elected by the people to govern for the people. If the polls are to be believed, Ardern and her Government are performing this fundamental task pretty well. The polls however, do not paint a true picture of people’s universal opinion of this government’s governance: far from it.

The polls are very much a reflection of how the government has handled the pandemic rather than their performance overall. They are illustrating the fear factor that the government has continued to push since March last year. This suits the Government rather well. It provides a coverup for all their inadequacies and allows them to introduce policies and laws that were not mentioned in the lead-up to the last election. In other words, with the Covid mandate they were given, they can govern largely for themselves.

If you recall, all Ardern spoke about in her election commentary was Covid. No policy of any consequence was discussed. To this day a significant portion of the population is so afraid of Covid that they are continuing to support her on that issue alone. However, since last year’s election, the polls show a closing of the gap between left and right, from 19% to 12%. There are two years to the election and as Covid fades, I’m picking that so too will Ardern’s popularity.

As the voters start to focus on the real issues, this government’s lack of success in areas that really matter will become strikingly apparent. Only yesterday the inflation rate was announced at 4.9%, the highest in a decade. Take out the GST component and it’s the highest quarterly increase since the eighties. This is going to hurt Labour’s core support, most of whom sadly will keep voting for them. There are others, though, who will be looking at it along with the government’s overall achievements: Outside of Covid – virtually none.

When it comes to governing on things that matter to voters, this government has been a total failure. Rather than concentrating on delivering in areas with huge problems, they have done nothing. Partly because they are incapable but equally, they have been too busy implementing their own agenda, which will do nothing to improve people’s lives.

Housing is an out of control shambles with an out of control market and supply chain problems holding up the building sector. Transport is turning into a debacle, with nice-to-have toys like trams, trains and a bike bridge all having millions of dollars spent on pipe dreams. Education is on an ever-accelerating downward slide, not helped by Covid closures of schools. Local government has been reduced to an argument over water rights. Child poverty under the Prime Minister is a complete disgrace and, with inflation on the rise, is set to get worse.

While all of this is going on, what is Ardern up to? Having an argument with the owner of what was to be her wedding venue. When the prime minister proves incapable of planning her own wedding it’s no wonder there’s no plan to deal with Covid. There is no pathway, no dates, nor any semblance of a time-frame. Businesses are left in ignorance, with no help from the government despite Grant Robertson saying otherwise. He seems to think a plan is turning up at the ‘pulpit of truth’ and lecturing us like naughty children for breaking the rules.

His other plan of course is printing money. I wonder if he thinks that has anything to do with a 4.9% inflation figure. He paints a glowing picture of the economy while racking up over $100 billion in debt. A reasonable question to ask is where has all the money gone? The answer is nowhere, at least nowhere to assist the economy. There’s nothing to show for it except wage subsidies and increased monetary sweeteners to encourage more people to have babies and end up under the umbrella of the useless Minister for Child Poverty.

This underwhelming pack of no hopers’ idea of governance, is to buy off the media to keep the Covid fear factor going and have every second word spoken or printed in Maori. Then it’s to strip councils of their water assets and give control to Maori. Next is to rewrite the school history curriculum in such a way that it tells only part of the story in relation to Maori, leaving out that which is unpalatable. Maori wards are being foisted on councils who don’t want them. A Maori Health Authority is being set up as part of the ridiculous centralisation of Health. Having some form of Maori ownership in your business will help you win a government contract.

We are increasingly being governed along racial lines. This will see the country in a parlous state if it is allowed to continue. It is in this environment that the government proposes introducing laws regarding hate speech. Heaven knows what they will entail. This Government is focused on all the wrong things. The economy doesn’t seem to matter to them.

Here are some questions we need answered:

  • Where is the pathway out of Covid?
  • Where is the pathway to businesses opening up?
  • Where is the financial assistance for businesses beyond an employee’s wage subsidy?
  • Where are the infrastructure projects as a result of the printing machines going full tilt?
  • What is the time frame for opening Auckland up to the rest of the country?
  • What is the time frame to get Kiwis home for Christmas?
  • When can we restart international travel?

None of these questions can be answered without a plan. There is no plan and therefore there are no answers. At the ‘podium of truth’ yesterday it was just more of the same. As a result, we, the population, are left like a lot of Alices in Wonderland, waiting for some action from the Queen of Hearts. Until then the country is fast disappearing down the rabbit hole while the government continues to act like it’s permanently at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

She's an utter embarrassment and obviously out of her depth.

We were reliably informed that she was reading straight off a pre written Script right from the outset of her telling us we were in Lockdown.

It's unknown exactly who has written these Scripts, alas New Zealand has it's own Laws and they are not Chinese Laws.

The sooner these Politicians and Public Health Advisors are held to account for their 'ignorance of Laws' the better.

They have caused serious harm to a vast number of innocent people who have worked diligently and made many sacrifices in the world.

Who does she think she is looking to what is happening in China and interfering in their Health Problems?

Talk about Mind Readers who spread that Propaganda.

She can hang her head in Shame.

There will be a full independent public enquiry in the UK - I think the Nuremburg analogy is ridiculous by the way.

One thing the NZ Government should be instigating is a "stop order" or equivalent on the destruction of records relating to the coronavirus response. 

Over here, local authorities and health organisations have bene ordered not to destroy any documents or records (including notes of meetings) relating to the coronavirus response.

We have seen some real eye opening things surface where you are @stodge

Whilst they may have evaded accountability in previous years with the likes of Swine Flu, which incidentally if one reads earlier history, Cattle & Human Diseases have always existed under various names including Swine Fever, Influenza, Porcine viruses etc.

There's certainly a need and urgency for Universities to be held to account for failing to adhere to Rule of Law.

They for too long have flouted fundamental rights under the guise of Research.

Personally I believe some of this world-wide experiment has come as a result of people standing up against using Animals for drug trials. 

Using pretty pictures that are created and shared on  the internet is not how you diagnose illnesses of any kind.

 

The complete failure to factor into account all the changes from Transport Modes, availability of Health Care access both Public Hospitals and Private Providers, improvements with sanitation, housing, the use of Open Air Windows in Buildings, food sources, geography, telecommunications, why Children go to school, people go to work and mix and mingle etc since way they were comparing with 1918-1919 Epidemic is beyond belief the level of Negligence.

We are waiting for the official announcement from Gvt to wear a mask inside and improve Ventilation to help stop the spread of virus..

So stupid in their thought processes.

The world introduced Open Air Windows with the position of the sun to warm buildings up and ensure free flowing natural air after the 1918-1919 Epidemic, in fact it was Truby King who came up with this concept, to ensure a Healthy Nation.

Any person who tells people to stay home, do home schooling and work from home on an internet capable device in the way we have across the world is missing a screw and out of touch with the world's Geography and how people really live.

 

It's topical to raise this with the talk of allowing the building of 3 storied Housing complexes to add to NZ's existing portfolio.

Frankly, we would like to see the use of land where there's existing empty Commercial buildings used for housing purposes because it was in the 1980's where they encroached onto Residential accommodation - In Auckland Khyber Pass Rd and Remuera Road are 2 such places that became choker with ugly Commercial buildings and took away Housing. 

 

There was a valid reason sections were required to be around 50 yards(?) street footage so there was space between occupiers of them.

This current Government are simply rubber stamping WEF, "Future Cities", "Smart Cities" etc without factoring into account the basics, that of Quality of Life, required underground and other services and the Natural Environment.

This has been a growing problem since the 1980's Amalgamations of Borough Councils.

 

What really is the point of an underground tunnel  across Auckland that they are digging for Stormwater flows when the earth needs water to function and keep the environment healthy?

There's no lateral thinking by those in charge of 'Consequences' to thier actions.

I take time after reading articles to search the feedback. Nuremberg albeit a little over the top is something mentioned a lot, but that’s taking a leaf out of the Climate Alarmists handbook 🙄

Wait for the Breakthrough Energy deals with ole Billy Boy, he has recently been in the UK meeting up with Boris signing 400million pound deals.

How much and what are the Terms and Conditions and who is the Parent company for the deal on Energy NZ has apparently agreed to use?

Meanwhile in the UK they are pulling out all those Fit for Purpose Boilers that were easy to clean, kept one cosy and warm naturally in the classrooms, hospitals, home for drum roll, Heat Pumps that consume vast amounts of electricity, get filled up with dust and are difficult to clean and can be a contributing factor to get Legionnaires and other respiratory illnesses.

 

Wait for the coil and burnless alternative tobacco products to hit the streets and kill off the people.

We find it funny that this current lot failed to succeed with the Cannabis Referendum as they must have relied on that for their 'Budget' to pay for HealthCare ;)

Whatever happened to Open Discussion and Democracy with involving The People who pay these Scientists and Politicians salaries?

How many 'cases' positive and negative have been detected through each of these people's own GP?

How many of these Positive cases are from people who don't have a regular GP?

Why do they not have their own GP where they have been 'diagnosed' in the crude manner they have been?

It's time there was accountability across the board why some GP's are receiving vast sums of the Public Monies to operate clinics that appear on the surface favour their own race. 

What are the numbers for other Infectious Diseases at these same clinics?

Is there a pattern of Infectious Diseases and other health issues cropping up soon after newer migrants have that should have been diagnosed and disclosed prior to entry to New Zealand that have or require Public Monies?

If these things are cropping up soon after arrival in New Zealand, what steps are been taken to ensure accountability under various Laws for failing to disclose Pre-Existing Medical matters prior to entry to NZ?

For those who may not be aware ADHB has had issues for a number of years of favoritism towards certain nationalities obtaining employment and getting appointments at the expense of longer term locals who were born and breed in NZ because there HR person was from the country where Delta is understood to be from.

It's been a known fact within circles that these people in these roles have a tendency to favour their own.

 

They also think that bc services are advertised as 'FREE' that they don't cost anyone anything, when in fact those services are not at all 'FREE' but come out of the Public's Purse from those who pay Taxes and cotribute to the economy with hard work and sacrifices.

New Migrants must be advised in their own languages of these facts prior to coming to NZ and using these services, this includes the use of Public Hospitals and St John and other Ambulance Services.

NOVA magazine that the ADHB publish confirms the imbalances that keep arising with the list of new employees names and where they are likely to originate from where standards are likely to be very different to that of NZ.

Heather Simpson, Helen Clark and Bloomfield families including Stuart, Katherine, Max Bloomfield and others in key roles within DHB's and healthcare across the countryside MUST be held to account.

One MUST not overlook H Simpson's Reports and the role of MP David Clark in this living nightmare HellHole THEY have created years ago and THEIR own ongoing Failure after Failure and gross Incompetence.

It's overdue for a Full Enquiry into DHB Fraud, Misappropriation of funds and the aforementioned 'expenses" over the years.

They are clueless about Budgets and targets in the real world.

We feel for all healthworkers in these DHB's as they must be toxic places to currently be working in..

Btw, interestingly Pauline Hanna, who worked Counties Manukau and her son at HRC links to ASB Loans to support Transgender ones..Hmmm.

Note the use now of DHB regions not Districts that factor into account the Geographic layout of Health Services like White Cross, Southern Cross, Private Medical Care services as a reasonable person would expect those calling the shots and 90% "targets" to aim for.

Why the ongoing failures to include freedom of choice who we choose to seek Medical Care from as not everyone relies on DHBs for service.

Why the Blanket approach?

They are all clueless about wider legal rights we have.

So much for their knowledge about Charitable Hospitals Acts when they were first set up to include a Duty of Care where-ever a person traveled and lived in New Zealand

 

Speak up those who work in these places as per provisions of Whistleblowers Protections

We are witnessing a disunion of our fellow citizens in a way we’ve never seen before, well in my lifetime anyway; It wasn’t so many years ago that although there might be disagreement on an issue, there was still a semblance of respect for each other’s views. That has well and truly gone out the window in Ardern’s New Zealand.

The venom, and – I’m just going to say it – hatred, on display is not only shocking, but extremely sad. It’s out of hand. We used to think in trying times New Zealanders would come together and forget minor irritations about left and right notions. But now, that concept is gone.  Most of you would have seen this division playing out somewhere in your life. Some of you will have experienced it personally. Perhaps within your own circle of friends, or disappointingly, your family.
You may think I’m talking about our current situation with lockdowns and vaccinations, and I am, but not only this. How about the smouldering disunity between Maori and so-called ‘non-Maori’; homeowners and renters; property owners and tenants; business owners and employees; beneficiaries and workers; firearm owners and police; farmers and environmentalists; progressives and conservatives?   The vaccinated and the ‘non-vaccinated’

The list goes on.  Where does this division come from and why is it so strong right now, you may ask? 
Because of one thing: politicisation.  The Ardern government has deliberately politicised every aspect of our lives. How we live, how we work, who is allowed an opinion, who isn’t, what you can and can’t do, when you can do it. Who pays, who benefits, who controls our water and land, and even who can have a say in our supposed democratic system. 
The government has done nothing but stoke the flames of identity politics and New Zealand is like a bad crème brulee: all kinds of split!

By politicising every space New Zealanders occupy, the government ends up controlling that space.
And that, my friends, is what it’s all about. 


Division leads to control, and that is where we are at.
A country where citizens are at each other’s throats. A terribly sad, and in my opinion possibly the worst, consequence of this increasingly authoritarian government which is hell-bent on destroying what most of us remember as a fair, friendly, and united country.  
It’s hard to know if we can return to that state of fairness and unity, it seems like an unattainable goal right now.
But it is my wish that we do, and I am certain many good people of this beautiful country wish for that too.”


I reckon if we can't reunite, we're stuffed.

Sadly @Ohokaman Much of the division over the years has been created within universities bc they don't apply or include pre-existing Laws that they to are bound by as students.

Remember Operation Evergreen re Moth Spraying over Auckland?

Remember the classifying of Exotic Trees and Botanicals as Pest Plants?

Remember the division and kicking off the land of Farmer and his animals that provided joy and attracted income for Tourism on the Volcanic Cones?

Then the kicking off from the Volcanic Cones of those who once all used those places in harmony for Pleasure that those in the 1800's ensured were welcoming for ALL people of all races.

 

It's the same cluster f* of DOC workers, Scientists and Politicians who have instigated this rubbish nonsense in to our lives and have never been held to account. Some of these people have been sucking off the Public's Purse since the 1970's.

 

It's time they were all RoundedUp and locked up bc they never care about the 'Consequences' of their actions and harm it keeps doing to the wider people.

 

They will only be happy when there's no other Human Beings or introduced species in NZ

Are none of you delighted with the free trade agreement with the United Kingdom?

I look forward to being one of the millions of British who will come out to stay under the unrestricted immigration clause - we'll buy up all your lovely sections and places in your retirement villages and put a pub in each NZ town and city - that's a proper pub serving warm beer, pork scratchings and cheese and onion crisps.

Auckland will be re-named Chiddingfold-on-Sea as part of the new "Anglicisation" of New Zealand returning you to the bosom of the Mother Country.

There seems an unending reservoir of old British people - they fill cruise ships, most of Provence, the Costa Del Sol and Tuscany.

To funny @stodge, hardly a plane flies over these days and shipping is pretty much at a stand still in and on these shores so not sure how we will fulfill this Trade Agreement which has been over 5 years in the making.

Re Pubs in towns, those that remain are understood to be owned, and neglected, by the same Pandy Family who have the MIQ contract, we could do with them back up and operational like they once were with horses outside and trusty ole Vintage Electric cars like back in the day.

We have lost far too many of our well built cozy buildings due to shortsightedness and SUPER SIZE me era
