Not sure what topic heading this should be under , Trump written off , Jacinda adern or climate change/global warming .

Anyway this is why Trump is a genius who is working for his country and cindy is a complete fool who is happy to see us go down the gurgler  . cindy closes down oil and gas exploration in the nakke and Trump does this .

President Donald Trump signed two executive orders on Wednesday that he says will accelerate the approval of energy infrastructure projects in the United States.

Trump signed the executive orders before applauding union workers at a training facility in Crosby, Texas.

The president energy infrastructure is too often held back by special interest groups and others.

He particularly took aim at the state of New York, saying “obstruction” on a gas pipeline “does not just hurt families and workers like you, it undermines our independence and national security.”

Trump is trying to make it harder for states to block pipelines and other energy projects due to environmental concerns.

Trump will order the Environmental Protection Agency to issue new guidance that states will have to follow to comply with the Clean Water Act.

The second executive order will streamline the process for infrastructure projects that cross international borders. The move follows Trump's decision to issue a new permit for the Keystone XL oil pipeline .

So reading this , Trump is saying to hell with the climate scam we are making  America prosperous great again , cindy is saying NZ is happy to be left behind and poor .

The world hasn't had a gutsful of Trump , the reality is his popularity is soaring to record heights , win win  . The collusion scam , exposed , the boarder crisis which isn't a crisis according to Trump haters is proving to be a real crisis . Trumpy can't go wrong .

''And I said to the president, Mr. President, we have recovered over 1,000 dead bodies in Texas since 2011 just out in nowhere, in the middle of nowhere.

And let me tell you what the exact numbers are. We did the checking today, Laura. 1,671 dead bodies who have been recovered in Texas near or along the border. That's women, that's children, that's old people. These are the most vulnerable people.

And the Democrats say they care about people? These are the most vulnerable people that the drug cartels and the human smugglers have taken across the border, given them a little bit of water and left them to die. And that 1, 671, Laura? That's the skeletal remains that we find. There are thousands and thousands of people.''

Think of the children

by Christie

Saint-Jacinda.jpg?w=2000&ssl=1 Photoshopped image credit: Luke

I love the way left-leaning journalists can write articles that have no basis in reality whatsoever. I guess that is why they call them opinion pieces. David Cormack has recently become a parent, and now he wants the whole country to drop everything to look after his daughter. It doesn’t occur to him that the best tool he can give her is the ability to look after herself. quote.

Three years. That’s what you get as a Government to earn our support. Three years. It’s not a long time to make lasting change. But one thing three years is long enough for is to shape the life of a child. And that’s clearly the vision of Jacinda Ardern and her Government.

The Prime Minister made it clear in the lead-up to the election that her vision was to make New Zealand the best place in the world to raise a child and that the wellbeing of New Zealand’s children would be her reason for being.

The families package has helped tens of thousands of New Zealanders with more money coming into their bank accounts.
The Government also immediately increased paid parental leave to 22 weeks and that’s increasing further. There’s a Best Start payment of $60 per week and increased social services that all came about because of the cancellation of National’s tax cuts. end quote.

There is no evidence whatsoever that these measures have made even the slightest difference to actual poverty. A bit more money in the bank is nice; but rents are increasing faster than ever, power costs have increased, and if the government had actually made some inroads into building some of those 100,000 houses instead of just talking about them, the chronic housing shortage might have started to ease by now. Although the media only reports on such things when National is in power, it is a certainty that there are more people now sleeping in their cars than there were two years ago. So much for New Zealand being the best place in the world to raise a child. quote.

Impressively the Government isn’t just focused on short-term wins, they’re looking longer term and working on something more embedded, something that lasts, something better. The first Wellbeing Budget will be delivered in May and I expect this to have a strong child poverty and wellbeing focus while later this year, New Zealand’s first Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy will be released. end quote.

The Wellbeing Budget is already a joke; it’s placing values on things that don’t matter, such as talking to a neighbour. If the government actually focused on keeping the economy strong, it would have the money for all of its social policies. quote.

If this Government really wants to be a force for good, then force through some good. Go big. Put in a new tax bracket for people earning over $120,000. Make corporations pay their fair share. Penalise tax evasion like National penalised beneficiaries.

You want to look after children and give them the best possible start in life? Then start being a Government that pays for things that make a real difference. Collect enough tax so we can give every person insulation and heating for their home, and books, and food. Enough so that we can transport people around in a way that doesn’t ruin the environment. These aren’t luxuries that only the rich should enjoy, they are bare necessities that make living bearable.

A Newspaper. end quote.

Here is the thing I just never get with socialists. He wants higher taxes, particularly on rich people (for your information, David, people earning $120,000 a year are far from rich, and most people who have children and earn less than $50,000 a year pay no tax at all), so that the government can provide rich people with insulation. It never enters his head that many ‘rich’ people live in uninsulated houses.

It also never enters his head that, if we increase taxes further, we will drive people overseas and as our pool of taxpayers reduces, there will be less money to provide for those who have nothing.

David Cormack is prescribing a socialist utopia. He wants to turn us into Venezuela, where everyone is equally poor, and everyone, including those who used to pay tax, are forced to scavenge on the streets to survive.

What kind of a world will that be for your daughter to live in, David?

Jacinda Ardern has done nothing to alleviate poverty, but she talks about it a lot. If there were Nobel Prizes for talking about what you want to do, she would win hands down. But talk is cheap and action is missing. That is the truth about the government we have at the moment.

Show me a socialist government that has ever made people’s lives better. There are none, and the government of Jacinda Ardern won’t succeed either.

Spygate... the house of cards about to tumble

Kiwis about to be red pilled

Leftism is the largest global brainwashing event in human history.

Poll Shows Media Failed to Gaslight Public About Trump Campaign Spying

462

Despite the media’s best effort to gaslight the public into believing otherwise, a plurality of voters accurately believe Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign was spied on.

The poll from the far-left Politico and Morning Consult shows that nearly four in ten voters (38 percent) said they believe spying occurred, while only 28 percent said there was no spying.

More than a third, 35 percent, didn’t know or had no opinion.

This might be the greatest media fail in the history of media fails. It most certainly is yet one more piece of evidence of an ever-growing pile that the media have lost almost all of their ability to influence public opinion.

During his testimony last week, Attorney General William Barr accurately stated his belief that “spying did occur” on the president’s campaign… And almost immediately, like the hapless Keystone Cops they now are, every single available person in the establishment media scrambled in a panic to push back against this truth, to scream it was a dirty lie, to pretend the president’s campaign was not spied on, never spied on because their precious Barry Obama would never-ever-ever do such a thing; it just didn’t happen, and if you say it did, you are a creepy, anti-science conspiracy theorist.

But after more than a week of the media unifying in a relentless pushback to gaslight the American people on this subject, only 28 percent are buying it.

The media could not even convince all the Democrats to buy into it; a full 24 percent of Democrats accurately believe Trump was spied on, as do 57 percent of Republicans.

On top of the media’s waning-to-nonexistent moral authority, contributing to this media fail are things I like to call The Facts.

The very idea that it is not spying when the Obama administration uses the C.I.A. and F.B.I. to wiretap Trump campaign personnel (and go so far as to lie to obtain those warrants), to employ covert personnel and covert sourcing to gather information, to lure unsuspecting Trump campaign staffers to overseas honey traps meetings, to launch a massive operation to covertly gather information on a presidential campaign and base it on oppo research gathered by the opposing campaign… To argue this is not spying is like arguing against the wetness of water.

If that is not spying, please tell me what is.

The American people are not stupid. They know what the definition of spying is. They know spying when they see it.

And  when a flaming left-wing nitwit like CNN’s Chris Cillizza says that instead of “spying,” it should be described as “surveillance approved by a FISA court,” that tells you just how dishonest the media are willing to get to protect the villains in this story (Obama, James Comey, James Clapper, John Brennan).

Whether it is the outlawing of “illegal immigrant” or “chick flick” or “bossy” or “spying,” the media have launched a literal Orwellian campaign to stifle debate by making our language less precise, by removing descriptive words from the dictionary only to replace them with Newspeak, with confusing mush like  “undocumented immigrant” or “surveillance approved by a FISA court.”

Hey, do you want to know what “surveillance approved by a FISA court” is called…?

It’s called SPYING…

We’ve known from the beginning of this treasonous attempt to take down a sitting President. Why would BHO stick around DC, buy another house instead of moving to the house he ALSO bought in Hawaii, and have Val Jarhead as a roommate? WE knew he was a sham from the first time he stepped on the stage from out of nowhere. WE knew HRC, Comey, Mueller, Brennan, Rice, Clapper, Ayers et al were all BFF’s when it came to their corrupt resumes. BHO couldn’t even pass E-Verify with the Social Security hé used before the election in 2008.
HRC had an ILLEGAL server in her BATHROOM for Cripes sakes and Comey looked the other way. Comey laundered money for the Clinton Foundation. They’re ALL involved in their tangled web of lies and treason. They’ve been COLLUDING for decades in the pursuit of destroying this country. Holder and Lynch covered for both BHO and HRC. WE KNEW...and the above doesn’t even COVER what they’ve done in their spying on Trump for over 2 years. Now they’re calling Trump crazy and unfit to hold office? That’s their last hurl of the boulders they’ve been throwing. They start calling someone crazy when that someone has been telling the truth for years. Bow to your master traitors...

A change of government appears to have resulted in exactly no change to the tax system.

But did Labour ever really intend to introduce a progressive new tax regime? Pushing through a CGT, publicly and politically would require hard work and courage. It required a popular leader with strong convictions. It turns out, despite her efforts over the last month, Ardern wasn't that person. The complete abandonment of any CGT for the entire term of Ardern's leadership makes it clear that the policy was just one they want to go away - not fight for in any meaningful way.  It seems now they never really intended to follow through. There are few other explanations for the complete failure to put up a proper fight for a CGT.''

No Government ever got voted in promising an increase in tax such CGT. They put it out there for public debate and tested the waters. It was clear that it was unpopular especially with Baby Boomers who have done well out of property.

CGT will have more chance when the current Gen Ys  gain ascendancy and the Baby Boomers have died off.  So we are talking 20 years plus.

The current government also knows that National is stuffed with Simple Simon and with Crusher taking over they are more than a shoe in.

At the end of the day politicians are driven by votes so why chance fate when you only have Simple Simon and Crusher to contend with.

It was obviously not just put out there for debate.

One thing i gotta ask is ,surely in coalition agreement talks she must have asked NZF what they thought about a CGT.

I wonder what Winnies reply was.

New Zealand's job market may be losing steam, if the sites on which vacancies are advertised are anything to go by.

Head of Trade Me Jobs Jeremy Wade said there had been signs for the past nine months that the job market was weakening.

But he said the drop in the first quarter of this year had been a surprise.

New job listings were down 6.1 per cent year-on-year in the quarter, the first time the site had reported a drop in 10 years.

"Our data shows that the private sector job market peaked around the start of 2018 and there has been a significant - 5-10 per cent - tail off since then. The decline in business confidence is now reducing new hiring."

We won, you lost, eat that!

by Christie

sir-michael-cullen-photo_doug-sherring.j

It is delicious to be able to rub Michael Cullen’s nose in the failure of his proposed Capital Gains Tax, (CGT). It is a massive black mark against him, of course, not being able to get the proposed tax across the line. So what does he do? He blames Winston. Such is the arrogance of the man. Really, he is a despicable individual. quote.

Sir Michael Cullen, who chaired the Tax Working Group, said he was disappointed but “not in the least surprised” there would be no capital gains tax.

A capital gains tax had been vetoed by Winston Peters, leader of Labour’s coalition partner NZ First, Cullen said.

“I always thought there was a high priority that NZ First would veto any legislation.”

end quote.

As is their right, Sir Michael, seeing that they are in government, and you are not. quote.

Cullen had said in November that he believed it might be “last chance saloon” for a major change to broaden the tax base.

“The problem we have is New Zealanders seem not to want an inheritance tax, or a wealth tax, or a land tax or a capital gains tax but they still want to complain about growing inequality of wealth.

Stuff. end quote.

There are many theories as to why this cornerstone policy of the current government has failed, but to me, the reasons are obvious.

The TWG’s report came up with a proposed CGT that was actually the most draconian in the entire world. It taxed capital gains at marginal rates (which would just about always be 33%) and included virtually everything – shares, businesses, farms, rental properties and the bach. The few exemptions – mainly artworks and racehorses – made no sense, unless you are a wealthy leftie with a penchant for art… like Sir Michael himself.

richprick2.png?w=800&ssl=1 Photoshopped image credit: Boondecker

It is my belief that the TWG proposed the draconian system that it did to give the government the opportunity to water it down, and present the public with a softer version of the tax, which is what we all expected yesterday.

In the days when Michael Cullen was in government, ministers would have rolled up their sleeves, taken a red pen to the report, and come up with a more palatable proposal that would probably have received muted approval.

But Michael Cullen has missed one very important detail about this government. Ministers in this government do not do any work themselves. They commissioned the TWG to come up with a proposal that they were then going to run with at the next election. That was always going to be it. No adjustments were going to be made.

If you think of the quality of the ministers we have at the moment, that makes complete sense. None of them – not one – has any economic understanding or tax expertise. That is why the TWG was appointed in the first place… TO DO THE GOVERNMENT’S JOB FOR THEM.

If the TWG’s report had not been so draconian, and had proposed a flat rate of tax (say at 15%), exempted all family homes including lifestyle blocks, allowed a rollover relief for shares, exempted businesses worth less than $2 million and left Kiwisaver accounts alone, the government my have got it across the line. Expecting this inept bunch of ministers to have enough of an idea on taxation matters to be able to rework the report was a bridge that was way too far. They are simply not capable of doing this.

So Sir Michael can blame Winston all he wants, but in truth, he did a very poor job himself. He proposed a tax system that was never going to be palatable to anyone except an extreme hard left government, and the ministers and their minions were incapable of doing anything to improve it. What a ship of fools.

Nevertheless, Sir Michael must be happy about one thing. Chairing the TWG has made him more of a ‘rich prick’ than he ever was before.

Lipstick has come off the pig

by Christie

Jacinda-knows-nothing.jpg?w=800&ssl=1

The fallout over the backdown on CGT continues. Certainly, abandoning CGT came as a surprise. Jacinda has always said she wanted CGT, because it was going to be ‘fair’. What is becoming clear now is that she may have wanted the tax as a socialist ideal, but she had no idea of what form it should take, how it should be applied, or how she was going to make it fair to some sectors of society without making it grossly unfair to others. Her claim that only the top 2% (which at one point became the top 20%) would be paying it was a gross untruth, but she wasn’t actually lying… she really didn’t know how it was going to work. Really.

I had to laugh at Gareth Morgan’s comment that she couldn’t make it work because the proposed tax exempted the family home. We should all be very glad that Morgan gets bored easily and has given up on any idea of a future in politics. People like him, who are convinced that they are right and that everyone who disagrees with them are morons, would be very dangerous in politics.

Now we have Sean Plunket, quoting Morgan’s famous description of Jacinda (that got him into hot water), saying that the lipstick has come off the pig. In other words, this Labour government is no different from any other government and is about as transformational as a wet newspaper. quote.

gareth-morgan-opportunities-party-lipsti

On Wednesday, Ardern announced a CGT was not going ahead, with the Government unable to form a consensus and facing opposition to the tax by voters.

But Plunket said the Labour Party never had a CGT policy and didn’t have a plan for the transformational change Ardern was selling.

“There never was a CGT that Jacinda Ardern campaigned on for three terms, for nine years – it simply didn’t exist. So she got someone to make one up and then she hired an old Labour politician to sell it. end quote.

She never had a clear policy on CGT. She just liked the sound of it and thought it would be ‘fair’. That was the full extent of her ‘tax policy’. quote.

“She was never really committed to it in the first place. She was just lipstick, there was no substance.”

With Ardern announcing the backdown, the “lipstick has come off the pig,” said Plunket.

The radio host also reckoned she used New Zealand First, which has historically opposed the tax, to then “scrap” the policy.
“It teaches us that when you vote, you should not vote on looks alone. You should look at what a party believes in, whether it not has policies or ideas for transformational change, and just because someone makes you feel good, doesn’t make them the best person to vote for.

“This is no turn-around by Jacinda Ardern. She didn’t have a plan for CGT when she took over as leader of the Labour Party, and neither did the Labour Party – so really nothing has changed, except a bad idea has been discarded by the side of the road.

end quote.

Plunket could be right about this. This also fits in with her description of herself as a ‘pragmatic idealist’, which she clearly does not understand. She is an idealist. All she has is ideals, and they are all socialist ideals. Being in government means you have to have more than ideals. You have to have the wherewithal to make those ideals work. That is where Jacinda, and this government, fall down so badly. They just don’t have a clue how to turn ideals into reality. quote.

Plunket said the Government was yet to significantly tackle issues like housing and poverty, and was concerned by what he said New Zealand First leader Winston Peter’s ability to veto policies.

“I don’t know where this country is going now, I don’t see any bold plans.”

Newshub. end quote.

This was going to be a ‘transformational’ government, that was full of ideas as to how they were going to change this country for the better, but they clearly had no concept of how to go about it. That they have failed so badly halfway through their term is not surprising. There is nothing wrong with being ambitious. Governments should be ambitious. The problem comes when there is a mix up between ambitions and capabilities. That is where the lipstick has well and truly come off the pig that is our government now.

And here's another total eff up by this government who have no idea what they are doing , Plastic Bags .

I  went to New World today , loaded the trolley and asked for 2 x15c bags, ah sorry we aren't allowed to sell you any , what , that's right the bags are two thick and are causing problems , the government has asked us not to sell any more , we have ordered thinner bags , they might be available in a week or so . It seems the free  bio degradable bags that we were all using as bin liners etc were better for the environment than the .15c so called  long lasting reusable bags which  people are using as bin liners and disposable rubbish bags .

What's happened is the recyclers, councils  have been swamped with long life plastic bags , who would have guessed.

They haven't got a clue .
