ROUND 7

Race 10 - Doomben R9

1st - 9 Chocante W-$18.50

2nd - 1 Single Gaze Q-$63.20

scr: nil

2 THE GRIM REAPERS (3rd)

$1460.00

2 points

3 THE REDS (1st)

$1429.40

3 points

Although the Reds had it won before the last Hesi bagged a beaut BB to not only win his tussle with Sarah and take a point off the Reds, but also earned his side two bonus points for a team profit and a higher aggregate. MVP John was the sole scorer for the Reds in the last and also got his side across the team profit line. The Reapers promised a good fight and delivered. Cabbage was an impressive Match Star for the losing Reapers.

339.40 Von Smallhausen

526.00 John

76.00 Cam

321.00 The Crucible

554.60 Cabbage

309.00 Gordy

437.00 Hesi

142.40 Sarah

53.00 Rob

131.00 Lloyd

5 ZIG'S WARRIORS (10th)

$2450.80

5 points

0 THE PRETEND GERS (2nd)

$989.00

0 points

The Warriors had it sewn up before the last and in the end no one selected the final winner. The Warriors put up one of the great performances of the comp so far with their lowest scoring player amassing over $360 while Steve P just edged Craig for Man of the Match honours but spare a thought for Gers' MVP Ian who banked over $500 and still lost. The Warriors, who took two additional bonus points for the margin and one for a team profit, clearly do not want any part of the wooden spoon battle....

602.60 Steve P

140.00 Kay

594.60 Craig

503.00 Ian

361.00 Wrinkles

32.00 Tom

397.60 Steve

35.00 Casper

495.00 Tony

279.00 Maria

1 THE ANZAC ARMADILLOS (4th)

$1157.20

0 points

4 THE HABIBIES (8th)

$1616.80

4 points

Late sensation here as the Habibies snatched victory at the death with Pam and Brian snagging nice quinellas to win their personal battles and get their side home with a bonus point for the margin and another for a team profit. Brian just edged Pam (whose selections were made by Brian) for MVP honours while PJ was Man of the Match, the most gutted Man of the Match ever I must add :(

308.20 Viceroy

464.00 Brian

85.00 Richie

309.80 Maureen

217.00 Cubes

446.00 Pam

67.00 Sharne

173.00 Isaac

480.00 PJ

224.00 Graeme

3 THE DREAM TEAM* (7th)

$1602.60

3 (x 2 Joker play) = 6 points

2 THE MONGOL STORMERS (6th)

$932.20

0 points

Another late dramatic reversal as Alan bags a BB in the last to roll Luca and win the match for the Dreamers for whom Captain Graeme also scored. Betty scored the Stormers final dollars and ensured MVP honours in the process. The Dreamers were never in front at any stage prior to the last but Man of the Match Mr Gee's Joker play now looks an inspired choice.

344.00 Rosina

157.00 Jack

99.00 Sylvia

193.00 Sarah M

615.00 Mr Gee

0.00 Rees

544.60 Alan

198.60 Luca

0.00 6xes

383.60 Betty

4 THE TRUMPING DONS (9th)

$1116.20

3 points

1 THE THUNDERBIRDS (5th)

$808.00

0 points

The Thunderbirds had 4 chances to turn the match around in the last but Benzini's 4th was the closest the came as everyone in their side missed. Pete tipped the final winner and nailed Moose in the process to add a bonus point to the Dons' victory. Ray was Man of the Match for the Dons in their much-needed win while Damion edged Moose for T-birds MVP honours. (Slight score adjustment needed for Jill as her quinella in Comp Race 3 went undetected on the day)

252.00 Pete

219.00 Moose

32.00 Punter Pete

120.00 Jason

152.00 Catalano

131.60 Sir Gallivant

411.60 Ray

113.40 Jill

268.60 Sasha

224.00 Damion

TABLE after ROUND 7

1st 22 points THE REDS* 9136.20

2nd 14 points THE GRIM REAPERS* 10,050.40

3rd 13 points THE PRETEND GERS** 9194.20

4th 12 points THE DREAM TEAM* 8451.20

5th 11 points THE ANZAC ARMADILLOS 8550.40

6th 11 points THE THUNDERBIRDS** 6660.00

7th 10 points THE HABIBIES* 8428.60

8th 10 points THE MONGOL STORMERS* 7552.20

-----------finals qualification mark----------------

9th 9 points THE TRUMPING DONS* 6146.20

10th 8 points ZIG'S WARRIORS** 8284.60

A win for The Reds extended their lead at the top of the table once again defeating the Grim Reapers who benefited from a couple of bonus points to move up to 2nd spot pushing down one place the Pretend Gers who lost against an irresistible Zig's Warriors who although unable to get out of the cellar, are only 4 points away from 4th place. The Trumping Dons won but remain 9th and are also very much in touch with the bulk of the pack. Last race defeat cost the Mongol Stormers two places and the Thunderbirds loss also cost them a spot as did the Anzac Armadillos. A win for the Habibies gained them a place while the day's big movers were The Dream Team whose successful Joker Play gained them 3 places in a clogged midfield. With two weeks remaining in the round robin everyone has a chance of a finals berth. Also 8 Jokers have yet to be played...

Cheers mate....not a bad effort at Robina eh? Not getting carried away though...too many  times (this season) they have failed to back up a good performance.

What a comprehensive victory from the Warriors on here today. Everyone scoring well with multiple double figure divvy winners. We have given ourselves some sort of chance now for a finals berth.....nice
