Midget 4,489 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 I didn't know Tony well but the Kaye family have been great contributors to racing and it's so sad to see a valued member of that family, and the racing community, stolen away at such a tender age. Rest easy Tony, I hope you're finally at peace after a long hard battle that no one deserves to have to fight. gubellini 4,004 Report post Posted April 16, 2017 Not many people have horses named after them but Tony did. Tony Kaye was bred by the Kaye family in 1966. He was a roan colt by Byland out of Kaye Gilpin. He raced 12 times for 3 wins. He won his debut as a 2yo in the Otaki Stakes over 4f on the 21/9/68. He also won at Wanganui on the 8/2/69 and at Waipukurau on the 11/3/69. Fittingly all three times he was ridden by Kaye Tinsley!
