Ohokaman 5,825 Report post Posted March 29, 2017 The other side of this Scooby is the number of injured horses that have come out of recent weeks. Running them on those bottomless tracks can be disastrous for some - Catchy, Our Ivanhowe and Tavago just a few. Track rated Soft 5 currently.....let's hope it improves further.... Shad 1,554 Report post Posted March 29, 2017 Are a few injuries on dry tracks to, always an option to scratch, im sure many trainers will have an idea if there charge will handle it or not, we are not the only ones that have weather issues. Hoki had shocking weather for there January meeting, but the show went on.

We're Doomed 4,855 Report post Posted March 30, 2017 6 hours ago, Trump said: Of all the Rosehill Group races held these last few weeks, tell me who didn't deserve their win? She Will Reign was favourite for weeks and won the Slipper from another Group winning filly in Frolic. The NZ Derby winner, who is adept on good or bad ground, won the Rosehill Guineas, the Group placed Jon Snow won last week. Winx kicked the crap out of everything. No rough, wet track hackers won - that I can recall. This weekend the Doncaster and the Derby will be won by very good horses. So I don't think the opening comment of the thread is valid. The C'Ships will be run wet or dry and the cream will come to the top - as it usually does., Nothing wrong with the winners, all decent types, but there were a lot of other very good horses who weren't competitive at all and would have made for more competitive and exciting racing on fairer going. Not sure of your comment re the 3 horses Ohakason. Our Ivanhoe has been quoted as "the best wet tracker in Europe". Freedman has been praying for downpours. The horse has always had feet problems and his breaking down can't be attributed to the H9/10. The trainer of Tavago was also glad of a H track saying it would help Tavago's chances. Catchy had never raced on a rain affected track so we soon found out she can't handle it.

Ivanhowe was lame no doubt due to the extra strain of the ground, now retired. Catchy was always a question mark but came out of it injured also. Tavago "never went a yard" in that ground, had only won on Slow tracks previously.
