Here's a dilemma

So Racing Victoria has been chutneyed by the courts, and both O'Brien and Kavanagh have publicly said today that RV is incompetent and that Terry Bailey is a liar and a perjurer.

So now RV has to make a decision, do they go to the court of appeal and almost certainly lose again because the evidence doesn't meet the higher standards of the public courts, or do they cut their losses, said to be 6-7 million already, put it all behind them and move on.

They can't win here because if they appeal and get beaten again they lose all credibility that remains, even though there's fuck all credibility left.

If they wave the white flag and move on where does that leave Bailey ?, given that he's the chief steward he must now charge Kavanagh and O'Brien for stating publicly today that he's a liar, and they can't win that case either because the evidence all points the fact that Bailey is nothing more than a common liar with zero credibility.

If they don't charge Kav and O'B for declaring the chief steward is a liar then they're effectively acknowledging that the statement is true and fair comment.

This is a terrible choice for RV, and whichever way they go they lose, unless they decide to let the matter rest now, and even then Bailey must surely be shown the door because he cannot be trusted ever again.

I agree with you Midge. There's a real problem here for the authorities. Bailey surely must be on thin ice. The interesting part will be "what from here?". Peter Moody will surely sue an being the leading Vic trainer at the time and quite young, his reputation has been sullied and it may just be a question of "how much"?

They are copping it from top to bottom. Remember David Moodie is having a crack at the other end. What does that tell you about RV? Credibility is questionable through the ranks I suspect!
