Griffin 57 Report post Posted February 17, 2017 Why don't we have one of these Saturday meetings starting at 10.a.m.to take advantage of the Aussies sitting there doing their form waiting for their races to start. Today we have 3 meetings all kicking off after 12. Half hour intervals until the rest of the meetings kick in.
uneasy 497 Report post Posted February 17, 2017 Because aussie TAB's will not open at 8.00am? We start 2 hours before them now
Griffin 57 Report post Posted February 17, 2017 Have they not got the internet over there yet?

They don't open there markets till after 10am (NZ) and often slowly roll them out over the next hour.
Griffin 57 Report post Posted February 17, 2017 Why don't our TAB offer them a market to bet on, and what about the NZedders waiting until 12 to bet we could cater to them couldn't we?

Griff, the horses don't get to the track on their own mate. Some poor bastard has to get up before sparrows to get them to the track before there race starts. Anyway, you should be doing the housework and tidying up outside like normal punters do before relaxing for the arvo. Griffin 57 Report post Posted February 17, 2017 What does the B stand for Barry, "Bell End". Forward thinking Sunshine, we need something other than normal punters. Think those poor bastards are already up whether the races are on or not.

Yes they are, but they have to get them to the track. have a look at some of the distances horses are travelling today you idiot. You can bet at 10am in the winter and the results speak for themselves if you care to check. People are too busy on a Sat morning with kids sports and other shit to be bothered with race betting or are you too stupid to figure that out. Griffin 57 Report post Posted February 17, 2017 Can't see the distances being a problem, horses travel throughout the country. A regular 10 a.m. start would bring in more punters. Sorry Barry I won't call you a Bell End again. Can't see why people would waste their money on children when there could be races to bet on? barryb 2,064 Report post Posted February 17, 2017 Griff, you are still not getting this are you. What about the small trainer who still has other horses to work in the morning, then load his runner/s into a truck and take them to the races. Fartoomuch 1,376 Report post Posted February 17, 2017 Just walked past 2 TABs in melbourne around 9.00am local time. Population near zero. Not the hottest day here with a high of 19 but hi ho its off to Flemington we go. Great fields, great TV previews of every race in the last 24 hours. Leaves NZ lot for dead. bestbets
Double R 260 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 I remember around 30 Years ago, a race meeting at Riccarton starting at 8am because there was a Rugby test on. Cheers. Robert.
