gubellini 3,993 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 Memo John Allen Cancel your March Road Show and urgently bring forward the NZRB meeting of March 28. Stop the prevaricating and announce a stake minimum of $10,000 immediately. barryb
Insider 3,942 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 Gubellini, you are so correct. Why have a travelling road show before the NZRB Board Meeting? John Allen will be able to tell us nothing or put another way, what he tells us will be conditional on the outcome of the Board meeting, surely! So why waste the time of all of us and our money? Leggy 4,076 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 Under the circumstances, I'd suggest the industry boycott the Roadshow meetings. I certainly am. Two months before even considering the outcome of the meeting. They can't be serious. Where the hell are the industry bodies here? Tell the RB that no-one will show till the matter has been considered. So urgent meeting now. Insider
slam dunk 1,317 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 Roadshow should be preceded with online submissions in an open forum. Then a common sense program for the meeting outlined. Taking questions willy nilly a waste of time. And time is precious.

That's an NZTR issue, not dependent on the RB funding distribution. Patiti, Pam Robson and Huey
Los Lobos 139 Report post Posted February 13, 2017 On 2/3/2017 at 2:57 PM, shaneMcAlister said: I got an email announcing the return of the John Allen Road Show in March. Firstly, fair play to him for keeping his word and doing them again. Below is a couple of tips for him this time round: Last time he spent the first 30 mins telling us how special the nz racing people were, how many group 1s are won in Australia compared to runners, the passion of the people in the industry, the skilled horse people etc etc.....TIP 1 WE KNOW ALL THIS AND IF HE HAD HISTORY IN THE GAME HE WOULD KNOW IT TOO. THIS WHY PEOPLE ARE SO UPSET ABOUT THEIR GREAT INDUSTRY DISSAPPEARING!!! SO PLEASE DON'T WASTE 30 of the 60 MINS TALKING ABOUT THIS AGAIN. Figures were quoted about increased income from field legislations, new betting platforms etc $60M (or something like that figure, makes no difference as pure pie in the sky). TIP 2 PRESENT SOME FINANCIAL BACKING OF THESE FIGURES. HOW MANY CUSTOMERS WE HAVE, HOW MUCH THEY SPEND NOW. HOW DO WE KNOW HOW MANY MORE CUSTOMERS OR SPEND WE WILL HAVE. IF TELLING A STORY AT LEAST MAKE IT BELIEVABLE. Give figures for how many owner/trainers are earning far less than the minimum wage and doing 70 hours plus gubellini and Aaron Bidlake

gubellini 3,993 Report post Posted February 14, 2017 Trackside TV has started to advertise John's upcoming series of meetings. No doubt a paper entry will be made on the income side of the NZRB's balance sheet for the cost of these adverts. Next thing they will be boasting about increased advertising revenue from Trackside TV! Spare me.
gubellini 3,993 Report post Posted February 14, 2017 Memo John Allen In today's business news it was announced that The Warehouse are preparing to announce MAJOR Head Office redundancies in light of a downturn in sales. Take a leaf from their book and do the same in light of the woeful performance of your organisation. If the NZRB was a publicly listed company you would be facing a Shareholder vote of no confidence at your next AGM. Usually shareholders in NZ wait until the last rites have been performed before they act. On second thoughts maybe we have reached that point given the state of NZ Racing.
