Midget 4,489 Report post Posted January 18, 2017 You have to feel for Matt. This year he was sacked as TA stable rider. He was interviewed by Emily on the way back on Padrig and said he wouldn't want to be riding anything else in the Karaka Million. He must of not known that Hughie would be on in the Million. A very good rider,he will continue to ride winners as class is permanent. Varro 244 Report post Posted January 18, 2017 why did he get the sack from te akau? I thought he did an excellent job for them. I like jockeys who are positive with their mounts, and often puts his runners in winning positions Muritai
Midget 4,489 Report post Posted January 18, 2017 Agree,he is positive and a strong in the finish. You would have to ask D Ellis, to the answer the question as to why he got the sack. SNR
gubellini 3,923 Report post Posted January 18, 2017 Very positive ride by Matt in the first race at Rotorua today. On Mongolian Wolf he downed stablemate and hot favourite Break My Stride by a nose.
Tribesman 5 Report post Posted January 18, 2017 An article in The Informant regarding the Te Akau/Bosson appointment said that Stephen Autridge is Bosson's godfather and that Bosson did part of his apprenticeship with him. Also that Autridge was training for Te Akau when Bosson originally started riding for them

The article on racing being the second most attended sport in Britain was interesting. Anybody have an idea of what spot it holds in New Zealand? Tribesman 5 Report post Posted January 18, 2017 Funnily enough the Informant didn't point out that Bosson is a better jockey than Cameron - maybe because it is not true despite all the media hype over Bosson. gary1, Kent and elbow

Tribesman 5 Report post Posted January 19, 2017 Mmmm - Cameron's profile stacks up pretty well against Bosson's - considering that he is 6 years younger than Bosson gary1
Tribesman 5 Report post Posted January 19, 2017 P.S. Matt's profile fails to mention that he also won the 2014-5 premiership with 155 winners Kent
Grant R 348 Report post Posted January 19, 2017 Feel for Matt but i like the way he's getting alot of rides for Baker/Forseman , Shaune Richie, Pike etc he's a bloody good rider who can put a horse in a race and gives great explanations on his thoughts about a horse he has just ridden Kent
Tribesman 5 Report post Posted January 19, 2017 Correction to my most recent comments - of course the 2014/5 premiership stats are there, but they are missing from the Highlights précis box
