Maybe Hayes' sentiments reflect the Australian way of thinking, they're always in a hurry, mind you when your ancestors survival depended on getting away from the crime scene ASAP it does sort of make sense. Meantime they have very few decent stayers ( nor do we at the moment though ) and their big cups are largely full of Europeans, bred or trained of course, but still big one paced slugs they've bought out of Europe for about ten times what they're worth, or will ever win, unless they go to Oakbank. Roll on Savabeel, Shocking and Tavistock, bring back the glory days of NZ racing when our stayers raped them every year. Ones that come to mind are Reset, Zabeel, Keeper, Lonhro, Show a Heart, Redoubtes Choice, All Too Hard, etc. All too performers at 1600m G1 level in Australia.
