La Zip 468 Report post Posted October 2, 2017 Easy Eddie ran a nice second at Kembla on Sat, he was paying 1-40 after some impressive trials and will win next start......they are on fire alright....better tracks! Lloyd Vivian 742 Report post Posted October 3, 2017 Lisdoonvarna won a trial easily recently, and won just as easily over 1100m at Nowra today at her first start in Australia. I think she's pretty special this one. She had one start here in NZ and ran quite an amazing 3rd at Ruakaka, coming from a mile back at the top of the straight... Lloyd Vivian 742 Report post Posted October 15, 2017 The roll has certainly started...Easy Beast won really well again, at Morphettville on Saturday, and Easy Does It won very nicely on debut in Singapore on Sunday. Lloyd Vivian 742 Report post Posted October 22, 2017 Lisdoonvarna won again at Nowra today, took a sit behind the leader, then ran past and won by a couple with her ears pricked in 1:09. Easy Eddie started paying $1.45 and won with a leg in the air at Wyong in a tick under 1:10 on a slightly softer track. Great to see some of the promise shown by these others translating into results. And of course Prom Queen bolted in on Saturday in the Gr 3 down south. Now 8 from 9. Will start very short in the 1000 Guineas barring any mishap. La Zip
La Zip 468 Report post Posted October 22, 2017 I think these great results over the weekend confirm they are much better suited to good tracks....like progeny of several other NZ based stallions. La Zip 468 Report post Posted November 2, 2017 Easy Eddie won again at Canterbury yesterday, led and kept going, sitting duck for Snowden's, however he had to much heart/ability, might be more than handy for Joe Pride this guy. La Zip 468 Report post Posted December 7, 2017 Lisdoonvarna wins yesterday at Canterbury in the wet! More in store for her no doubt and at Pukekohe yesterday a great run in the 2yo from Thunder Dragon to weigh in 3rd. Best value sire in NZ. Not a major knock on Super Easy but a few young NZ stallions have made a good start Burgundy, Power, Reliable Man, Highly Recommended all are 2nd season sires that so far may have made a better start? Isnt Prom Queen Super Easy’s only stakes performer overall and his only winner this season in NZ from 12 runners?
jeepers 276 Report post Posted December 7, 2017 Agree BruceL. There are many good value stallions in NZ at sensible fees,Alamosa,Road to Rock,Showcasing, Dalghar,Raise the Flag but to name a few. In the higher bracket Tavistock is obviously a good sire, but what if one gets a filly?? I personally like sires that leave both good colts AND fillies. High Chap. fillies not so good,(maybe temperament?) It does seem that in the Saddlers Wells line stallions the fillies have a temperament problem, there are exceptions of course. .... 226 Report post Posted December 7, 2017 Yeah was not a knock on Super Easy, the 2nd season sires are doing a good job and there are plenty more that are doing a solid/ok job at reasonable fees. Savabeel/Tavistock/Iffraaj/Pins clearly the top of the pack but hopefully some of the higher profile stallions with early runners or no runners can join that proven G1 company. I think Tavistock will get good fillies/mares in time (still hasn't sired a Group winning female though), he has had a few Listed Winners, Oaks placings and Group placings but still has to get it done, it is easy to forget that the progeny that he has had race so far have been off moderate service fees ($12,500 and under I think), and his current 2yo's are a result of his first 'big book' and the quality of the mares that have foaled down this year and been served again this year has been very strong so he will get every chance to fix his female stats and overall stats going forward. La Zip 468 Report post Posted December 8, 2017 Bruce, SE has had winners in Metro Sydney and Adelaide, that beats us here hands down. It also means the Aussie trainers identified their potential and thank God for that......he's had some nice horses here, one or two a tad unlucky in their races, I'm sure if we can get them to Aussie they'll kick goals also......at his fee, it's wonderful value, and if the nick works, go back for more. So have the rest. Highly Recommended has had 2 stakes winners and 2 stakes placegetters from the same amount of mares to race, great effort Burgundy 2 seperate dual stakes winning horses, Reliable Man a stakes winner and multiple G1 placegetters. Power a G2 winner in NZ and 4 other stakes placegetters in NZ None of these stallions were over 10k with the exception of RM, just stating facts here, im not knocking SE but its not just the Super Easy show! La Zip 468 Report post Posted December 8, 2017 No I realise that Bruce, but from a commercial breeders aspect, Aus is far more beneficial, to not only the bottom line, but the pedigree page!

Lloyd Vivian 742 Report post Posted March 14, 2018 Very promising filly in Western Australia 'Pearls and Prawns' won its 2nd race today to make it 2 from 2. Badega beaten 3/4s of a length on debut at Matamata also today. And Easy Beast won easily resuming at Morphettville on Adelaide Cup day, Monday. Here's hoping they can all step up to better things during the autumn. Midget
