I have always considered the CJC to be one of the most boring clubs when it comes to programming. For instance, no other club in the country runs as many meetings with no race further than 1,800m, but the one thing that bugs me every year is why they run the 1,400m fillies and mares race on the middle day of cup week, clashing with the Coupland's and Stewards, when it would make an ideal lead-up to those races if it was run on the first day, and it could lead to some of those horses racing an extra time. Can anyone explain this to me. Yes, not many trainers I know would race over 1400m on the sat to then go 1200m in the stewards handicap sprint on the Wednesday

We're Doomed 4,824 Report post Posted September 1, 2016 Thanks Dopey. I was largely referring to the Mares race onto the Coupland's. The Stewards was just an aside.
