Well done to the Sharkies (Mark, Craig, Pogo, Gruff, and Rees) for a good win today over us Mighty Blues. You guys had the match under control for most of the afternoon and to be honest the 3-2 scoreline flattered us somewhat.

A strange ole day with several top teams and top players failing to get into gear, generally a low level of scoring, and plenty of surprises.

The only consolation for us Mighty Blues is that we didn't go to a Joker play today, after the matter having been seriously considered. So both Jokers still in play where we can do some damage.

Pete scored another win for us today, well done Pete; Geoff finally got toppled at the hands of an in-form Craig; and hard luck Gordy and Brian. We Mighty Blues will bounce back strongly next week. That's a big for sure good buddies.

Top versus bottom proved an unfair match as the Kats got the cream big time running out 5-zip winners (adding two bonus points) after Sarah beat Cubes in the last on a countback with her Lucia Valentina beating the 2015 Melbourne Cup winner. All the Barbarians bar Sir C found the winning fave in the last with BBs for Kay and Steve P while Wrinkles was their MVP albeit with a modest tally. Sharne also got the final winner (with a BB) and as as well as having a great day on the track she was today's outstanding tipster somehow finding 6 winners and two smart quinella. Top stuff !

The Turbos could have upset The Chiefs in the last had He or She got up but the fave was too strong and was selected by 3 Chiefs - Ian, Casper and Catalano plus Turbo Porky, who added the quinella. Porky reeled in Sylvia in the last but to no avail as Casper trumped Punter Pete. A nice BB quinella early in the day assured Ian of Man of the Match honours while Moose was Turbo MVP. The Chiefs took a bonus point for their margin.

The Kats big win substantially increased their lead at the top while the Blues, Hurricanes and Ferdies sustained defeats but didn't lose position. Today's movers were the Chiefs and Crusaders who moved up a place each on the back of their wins. A loss for The Turbos proved costly as they fell two slots while wins for The Sharks and Magpies brought them much closer to the action if it didn't improve their ladder positions. The Barbarians drought continues. Surely they will catch someone unawares soon.
