The Blues held on for a win based more on fortunate draws than outstanding tipping with MVP Howie (quinella), Gordy (BB) and Geoff completing their collects. Jen edged Sarah for Match Star honours for The Kats who are somewhat consoled by a bonus point for a superior aggregate. 200.00 Gordy 175.00 Graeme 259.60 Howie 376.00 Jenlove 50.00 Pete 30.00 Pam 131.00 Brian 370.00 Sarah 166.00 Geoff 90.20 Sharne 2 THE SHARKS $1140.80 0 points 3 THE TURBOS $2437.40 3 points Gruff's roughies never yelped in the last so the Turbos held on to win. A final BB collect from Sharks' MVP Mark to added to their aggregate which while reasonable paled into insignificance given The Turbos mammoth tally nearly half of which was provided by a master stroke from Man of the Match Viceroy early in the day. Porky (one of 3 Turbos to score over $400) and Sir Gallivant added BBs in the last while Punter Pete chipped in with a quinella (and nearly nabbed Pogo in the process). The high-flying Turbos took a bonus point for a team profit. 162.00 Pogo 159.20 Punter Pete 225.20 Gruff 414.00 Moose 454.40 Mark 281.00 Sir Gallivant 111.00 Craig 430.00 Porky 188.00 Rees 1163.40 Viceroy 4 THE HURRICANES $1265.40 3 points 1 THE MAGPIES $1056.20 0 points Thames Court nearly won the last but it was never paying enough to get the Magpies up for a shock win even if it could have held out Dwayne Dunn's mount. The Magpies ended the day with wins from Ray and MVP Jason (each with BBs) plus Sarah. The Hurricanes, who took a bonus point for the 4-1 margin, all scored in the last with the exception of Cam. The Chiefs' final dollars came from Ian and an impressive Man of the Match in Casper who went out with a BB. The evergreen Cubes was the Barbarians' MVP. All the Crusaders bar Mr Gee found the McEvoy winner with 3 - Tom, Rob and Man of the Match Alan - adding best bets. Comp faves the Hurricanes crept up another place after a comprehensive win over the HB Magpies who slipped one place in defeat. The Chiefs won but lost a place thanks to the 'Canes' bonus point while their victims - the Barbarians - remain at the foot of the table after 3 straight losses. The Ferdies were the day's big movers gaining 3 slots after their narrow win over the 'Saders who held 6th despite defeat thanks to a couple of bonus points. Winter Champions Gordy and Geoff unbeaten in their 3 matches, Pete with back-to-back wins, Brian steered us home against the Turbos, Howie floundering hopelessly at the rear but still happy all because .... all because ...life continues to be very good for the Mighty Blues. N1MUE 1,877 Report post Posted September 10, 2016 Peter Jenkins you never cease to amaze me. 50 entrants, 10 races, 2 selections in each race, quinellas, 2 best bets - and every score 100% accurate and immaculately presented with detailed commentary. Compare that with the other channel. Slightly more entrants (67) but only 5 races with one selection and one best bet. I count around 13 scores that are still wrong at the 3rd attempt. Just wait until next week when there is a weekly score and a cumulative score Oh and at some point people are going to start playing their jokers. ps. I know this is not very Christian of me, but given the crap that guy has dished out, I'm quite enjoying it (nothing a couple of Hail Marys won't take care of). I would have offered to score the other comp again but I'm going to be away for Cup week which is a busy week in that comp. If you're in that other comp I'd recommend that you check your scores each week - Casper & TC found their shortfalls, Kay found Porky's & Jason's, Gordy you've been sold short a few dollars, ....... jack, Peter Jenkins, Gordy55 and 2 others
