Well done, Mighty Blues' team-mates, good win against a strong Turbos lineup today. Gordy, Geoff & Brian our big winners today, great stuff guys.

Hard luck Turbos, you had the lead for most the day, until Brian unleased in the penultimate race. Punter Pete had a sensational day and (as PJ so delicately put it) absolutely smashed me. Consolation for the Turbos are 2 valuable points, one for a Team Profit and one for a higher aggregate.

Thanks for another fun day PJ comp day, PJ.

ROUND 2

Race 10 - Moonee Valley R9

1st - 2 Killarney Kid W-$5.30

2nd - 12 Lord Durante Q-$20.80

scr: 11,13,15

3 THE CRUSADERS

$1051.40

2 points

2 THE CHIEFS

$1216.40

1 point

Apologies for my extrapolation in which I said that the Chiefs needed Killarney Kid to win - I hadn't taken into account Alan's BB which he duly scored to defeat Sylvia negating Catalano's overhauling of Tom. Jack also scored in the last for The Chiefs being just edged by Catalano for MVP honours. Richie was Man of the Match for the victorious Crusaders who lowered the colours of the "Vo Rogue" table-toppers in a close match although the Waikato took a bonus point for a higher aggregate.

1 THE TURBOS

$1721.20

4 THE BLUES

$1675.60

4 points

The Turbos had a couple of chances to win it in the last but both faded and none of them tipped the winner while Pete added a bonus point for a 4-1 margin by nailing Viceroy by $1 being the sole Auk on target. Both sides took a point apiece for a team profit while the Turbos took another for a higher aggregate in what was an excellent display of tipping on a tough day. Geoff edged Brian for Blues MVP honours while Man of the Match was Punter Pete with a mammoth tally.

2 THE KAURI KATS

$1072.00

1 point

The Ferdies had been chasing Kats all day and finally caught one in the last with Maurice nailing Sarah by just $6 to pull off a win for the 'Naki for whom MVP PJ also scored in the last. There was some consolation for the puddys with Sharne bagging a BB and Man of the Match Graeme also chipping in to take the Kats' aggregate just past that of the Ferdies for a bonus point. Well done team !

The Magpies had left almost an impossible task for the Sharks to come back in the last and went out in style win a win from Man of the Match Damion. The Sharks had off day with no one scoring above $200, their final collects coming from Mark and MVP Craig (unlucky to strike Damion in the draw). No bonus points were earned.

1 THE BARBARIANS

The 'Canes had it wrapped up before the last and ended the day with a win from Man of the Match Hesi although he was very nearly caught by a BB from Cubes, the MVP for the Barbarians for whom Kay also scored in the last. The Hurricanes earned a bonus point for the 4-1 margin.

THE TABLE - after Round 2

1st 6 Blues 2596.60

2nd 4 Turbos 2680.20

3rd 4 Chiefs 2330.60

4th 4 Hurricanes 2185.60

5th 4 Kauri Kats 1514.00

6th 3 Crusaders 1496.80

7th 2 Magpies 2140.00

8th 2 Ferdies 1974.20

9th 2 Sharks 1720.40

10th 0 Barbarians 1807.80

The Blues big win today rocketed them up 4 places to the top of the table so double soy chai lattes all round to them ! The Turbos may have lost but their 2 bonus points actually elevated them one place while The Hurricanes gained two spots from their win over the Barbarians who remain in the cellar. Former leaders the Chiefs dropped two spots in defeat while a last race defeat for the Kauri Kats saw them lose three ! The Crusaders gained one place with their win as did other winners the Magpies and Ferdies. The Sharks loss saw them drop 5 places (that's half a table) and will be looking to improve sharply next week.

Phew $1 ahead. Tough day at the office. Hard luck Viceroy I really never felt confident about winning.

Good one, Pete .... well done, has given us an extra valuable point.

Now that just leaves one Howie Right Next Time to get his maiden Spring Comp win ! Trailing the field, and needs to improve. :)

Is this a great comp or what !

Thumped $822 to $269 by Punter Pete ; batting $ 348 for : $1229 against ....from 2 matches ; 0-2 win/loss record

yet I rejoice in the fact that the world's most liveable city sits right where it belongs, right at the top.

Life is good ! :D
