Absolutely SirG ..  The Virginian was only carrying 50 and it had run a faster time over 1200 than The Quarterback, it was bound to be competitive.    Amazing money and an absolutely fantastic day for the kiwi bred, human and horse, today all over Australia.  Rory Hutchings is having a blinder too :)

ROUND 8

Race 10 - Eagle Farm R10

1st - 19 Provocative W-$7.40

2nd - 1 Ambience Q-$48.10

scr: 5,20-22

2 THE WARRIORS

$1647.80

1 point

4 THE THUNDERBIRDS

$2108.40

3 points

Moose, Heather and Lloyd celebrated a Thunderbirds victory with a win in the last but they were denied a bonus point for a 5-1 margin when Pete and PJ also found the Kiwi raider which enabled Pete to catch Brian and also boosted the Warriors across the team profit line for a bonus point. It was a good effort from the Warriors led by an outstanding MVP in Sylvia but they found The Thundersbirds, who also achieved a team profit bonus point, just too good with Lloyd an impressive Man of the Match and Moose also putting in a good knock.

188.80 PJ

378.80 Heather

131.00 Punter Pete

331.00 Cubes

274.00 John

573.80 Lloyd

3 THE BRONCOS

$926.80

1 point

3 THE HEAT

$1249.00

1.5 points

Only MVP Nekky scored for The Broncos in the last as their winning streak came to end surprisingly at the hands of The Heat, for whom Sharne (with a BB) and Man of the Match with a top score - Jack, scored in the Oaks. The Heat's aggregate was the superior earning them the bonus half point. The Broncos were in control early on but a determined effort from the Hot ones brought them back into it nicely.

103.60 Howie

54.00 Jenlove

154.80 Geoff

0.00 Sir Castleton

145.00 Gordy

131.00 Casper

3 THE SUNLINERS

$1007.40

1.5 points

3 THE PANTHERS

$981.80

1 point

Good finish here with sole Panther Rosina, who also took Match Star honours, getting up in the last to nab Sunny's MVP Craig and force a draw although The Sunliners were marginally ahead on aggregate thanks to Steve and Cam tipping the Kiwi raider. No bonus points were earned.

121.60 Richie

211.00 Graeme

253.00 Craig

308.80 Rosina

164.00 Cam

211.40 Alan

0 THE GRIM REAPERS

$1245.20

0 points

6 THE RENEGADES

$2777.00

5 points

The Grim Reapers ended the day with the hapless Steve P bagging a BB to secure MVP honours for his side but they were utterly destroyed by one of the best team performances ever seen in a Super Comp with the Renegades, for whom Sarah, Maurice and Mark scored in the last, running rampant on their way to a 6-zip win and maximum points. Captain Rees put up a massive score after being on zero for the first half of the card while Mark and Maurice also posted excellent tallies. Nice effort people. REES' SCORE NOW CORRECTED.

185.00 Hesi

215.80 Kay

109.00 Von Smallhausen

248.80 Sarah

284.40 Sir Gallivant

Table after Round 8

1st 21.5 The Broncos^ $11,650.20

2nd 18.5 The Thunderbirds $12,189.00

3rd 15 The Renegades* $11,810.80

4th 13 The Warriors^ $10,132.00

5th 11.5 The Panthers $11,215.80

6th 9.5 The Sunliners^ $8858.20

7th 9 The Grim Reapers* $9934.80

8th 9 The Heat*^ $9891.40

* J1 Joker played

^ J2 Joker played

With no Jokers in play today again, the table didn't move much other than the Renegades big leap up from 5th to 3rd after their down-trou of the Reapers (do they wear trousers ??). This caused the Warriors and Panthers to lose a spot each while The Reapers also suffered the same fate and are now at the cellar door just aggregate only ahead of today's moral victors - The Heat. The Sunliners draw moved them up a place halting their slide.

Well done Heaters ...pre-match comments alluded to your team being much better than your 8th place standing indicated, and so it proved. We Broncos are pleased to come out with a point to keep the ole scoreboard ticking along on what apart from the Rampant Renegades was overall a relatively low points-scoring day for the various teams. Special mention today for our Nekky amassing a nice individual score towards the team effort; and for Geoff who with a 7-1 record just has to be the best-performing of all those chosen first out of the draft for the various teams. Great day for the Kiwi horses in Queensland today, beaut stuff, and made for a very good watch. Big win for our league boys against the Newcastle Knights today; an inevitable win for the All Blacks this evening against the Welsh ...yes a very enjoyable Saturday indeed.

Thanks for all the updates today, PJ.

Hi Peter, doesn't make any difference to results but I think you might have sold Rees short of some points on his best bet quinella on Its Bianca.

i think he scored over 1,100 today (more than he did in the entire first round).

Congrats on a good win today Thunderbirds - too strong for us.

Not a bad effort today team Warriors - good wins against the T'Birds again from Sylvia and Pete and pretty good scoring across the board to earn the bonus point (but especially thanks to our star player - Sylvia).

Renegades next week - hopefully they've used up all their winners in this one week.  Remarkable effort from Rees & team today - congrats!

Hesi, Ian & co - anybody home?

(note our namesakes a game away from winning the NBA finals, and our other namesakes with a good win today - although the Knights are pretty poor)
