Agree Hesi it did feel like a win 2 points in the bag,even though we lost for some reason it felt like a win. I guess we would have had to have lost like the Warriors to have felt that losing feeling...............GS for now NZ shortly

Funny you should mention that Hesi - The Reapers are certainly on our short list for using the joker(s).  The phrase "revert to the mean" springs to mind.

Taking a wee break from LGL comp and thought I'd run an individual knockout comp (a la the recent FA Cup comp).

Rather than requiring entrants to submit a separate set of picks, I will just use the picks and scores from this Winter comp.  You don't need to do anything more than submit your picks as usual for PJ's comp and follow your progress in this parallel individual comp, which is obviously limited to the 48 entrants in PJ's comp.

Here's broadly how it will work:

- Week 1 will be a seeding round - your score will determine your seeding throughout the comp (from 1 - 48).  Ties split in the same way Peter does. 

- Week 2 will see 24 H2H matches; 1 vs 48, 2 vs 47, 3 vs 46, .......   The 8 highest ranked winners will get a week off the following week.  The 8 lowest ranked losers will be eliminated.

- Week 3 will see 32 teams play off against each other (highest ranked vs lowest ranked, second highest ranked vs second lowest ranked, etc ........).   The 8 lowest ranked losing teams will be eliminated, the remaining 24 teams will join the 8 highest ranked winners from week 2 to make up the final 32.

- Weeks 4 to 8 - the final 32 will then play a straight knockout comp for 5 weeks to find the winner  (in each round the highest seeded team will always play the lowest, etc ......)

This method will put quite an emphasis on the initial seeding - if you're seeded quite high, you can lose two games in a row and still make the final 32.  If you're seeded toward the bottom you'll need to win in weeks 2 & 3 to make the final 32.

Just a bit of added spice to the comp.  Could see some mate against mate.  If Gonsta manages to recycle any of the LGL prize money I will look to put up a small prize for the winner (and maybe runner-up).

Graeme, TC had 2 & 8 BB. I had originally given him a final score of $270 but this should have read $170 (fixed now) - a transcription error. The team total was correct at all times.
