Prime Minister John Key spelt it out in his annual January 'State of The Nation' Address earlier this week :-

" It is important for all New Zealanders that Auckland succeeds."

Loosely translated that means :-

" We the Government don't want any punks trying to make a name for themselves over-achieving against the Mighty Blues this PJ Summer/Autumn Super Comp."

Therefore, in the interests of the country, all rival franchises are encouraged to turn in quiet, erratic performances when up against the Mighty Blues this season. How can you help ? Pick one Best Bet race only when you are entitled to two; pick horse numbers 11 & 12 when there are only nine horses in the race; pick Emergencies five and six and have no scratching subs; pick sprinters in the staying races/stayers in the sprint races; pick horses 1&2 in every race and get yourself disqualified for flagrant disregard of competition rules ...all that sort of thing will assist greatly in bringing your team down and ensuring Mighty Blues success.

Your country expects.

Be a loyal Kiwi, eh.

Jafas forever !  :)

Firstly my apologies to my team mates went out Monday and had every intention of putting my picks on when I got home but as things happen never got home in time so resigned myself to the fact that I had lost round one . Thanks to Mooseman for his selections for me at the end . I feel a bit of a fraud winning my apologies to Grant for beating in this manner.
