I'll try to remember to screen shot something this weekend Brodie. Most of the time there might be say $180 at $10 there and I just click on it and put in $300 at $10 and I get all that $180 and within a minute the rest of my $120 is gone. Agree it does look sometimes like you wont get on but like you it seems a lot of people dont put up anything and they are just waiting for others to do so. I was surprised over the first couple of weeks how much and quickly I was getting on, as as Kakama said its all in the last 5mins

How about that for an example?

Keep in mind there are often much bigger betting opportunities sitting at slightly lower odds.

Often when people put up a big lay someone will go slightly lower for a lesser amount so it's not a reflection of the amounts you can get on.

101% pretty incredible though.

Brodie if this doesn't appeal to you then you aren't the punter you think you are.

The amounts you show seem to be a example of what I have normally seen for harness on NZ trots.

The amounts are absolutely pathetically low, and seriously I don't believe worth my time and effort.

Of course it suits many who want the challenge of getting goods odds but the amount you are able to win on a single bet is pretty

low in my opinion.

You're a terrible listener. If someone puts up a 1k lay at 5s and someone puts up 5 bucks at 5.3 the 5.2 goes in front. You aren't looking at all the odds offered, just the top ones.

You probably should give up on me as I still can't see anyone getting on sizeable bets with harness NZ at any time with Betfair.

Until such time think it doesn't suit my investing.

That screenshot you posted, $17k matched in that race at Auckland, pretty good. I have not bet on NZ racing, harness with betfair much, 

 as the pools were very small. Might have to look again. Pools at riccarton only a few thousand. I wonder if a few Aussie punters are starting to bet on the NZ harness with betfair?

One thing I will say, if you are betting in play on racing, remember there is a 3, 4 second delay. Don't get caught

Betting win/ lay with favourites at betfair is bloody good. If a horse is paying $1.20, if you put $20 on it, and it loses, you will receive $120.  Put $10 on a $1.10 shot, get back $110 if it loses. Great to cover bets in play

 

You can also bet,  lay horses to place, although you might be limited with NZ pool.

Brodie. Sickopunters example is a good one as it shows the market at 101% which is ridiculous and 17k matched which is also pretty good.

I would just think seeing as you have said you are restricted and you find it frustrating that you cant get more on that at the very least you could just take your prices with the TAB that you want to win 2k and then anymore that you would have had on if you werent restricted you could just post up on betfair at the same prices. Just because the price gets knocked off on the TAB doesn't mean betfair will follow. If anything Ive seen numerous runners drifting out when theyve come in on the TAB. In no way is this a knock on you Brodie as you're more than likely a more successful punter than myself but I dont see how you can complain about the TAB's restrictions and market percentage etc and just continue to do the same thing. This is exactly what the TAB wants as they know they have very little competition and can treat punters with absolute disrespect and they assume we wont do anything about it. I just feel one of the small things I can do to show my disgust with the way they operate is to take my business elsewhere. Im sure at this point in time the TAB doesnt see betfair as much of a threat but if all of us annoyed punters started using betfair then more would follow as the action increased. Suddenly if TABs turnover decreased and they noticed betfair was getting say 50k turnover on races, maybe the TAB would start doing things differently.

Thanks for that and I agree with most of what you say.

The TAB would certainly like me to invest with Betfair rather than with them, they have advised me to bet overseas as well.

It would be great if you could bet early with Betfair rather than just before the race!

Yes I will continue with NZ TAB with the restrictions even though it is extremely frustrating and odds seem to be getting tighter and tighter.

You can bet early by posting up what you want even if there are no other bets there. So like I said just do it when you normally take the TABs fixed prices and put the extra you want on up on betfair. If it gets taken you're happy and if it doesnt well no big loss but I would think you'll get on more than you expect.
