Winter Trans-Tasman Super Tipping Comp Finals Week 3 Sat Aug 15 entries here

Recommended Posts

Finals Week 3 Sat August 15

The Crusaders & Stags have been eliminated while the Hurricanes & Barbarians have secured Grand Final berths.

This week's opponents face off to secure the remaining Grand Final spots. Lose, and they have a week off before the Spring Comp. Win, and they take the track in next week's Grand Finals. I predict there will be some mind games being enacted by a few non-playing Grand Finalists over the weekend...

Races are:

1. Te Rapa R1 - 12.20pm – Pencarrow Stud 2100 - $25k, 2100m, open hdcp

2. Te Rapa R2 - 12.50pm – BUPA Care Services 1600 - $20k, 1600m, R85

3. Te Rapa R4 - 1.53pm – Perry Aggregates 2100 - $18k, 2100m, R75

5. Te Rapa R7 - 3.41pm - 2015 Lisa Chittick Foxbridge Plate (Gr2) - $100k, 1200m, WFA

6. Caulfield R5 - 4.40pm - KS Environmental Vain Stks (Gr3) - $150k, 1100m, 3yo colts/gelds SW+Ps

Cubes checked the Cubalender and Cubes has nothing to do with the matches this weekend that will surely all become instant classics.

So Cubes has nothing to say .

Nope .

Nada.

But if someone called on the Cubephone and asked Cubes to get out the Cubaculator and make an observation or three and Mrs Cubes was out shopping so we could talk freely Cubes might just say :

1 : Chestnut may be 2/5 but she beat Cubes good and proper in the round-robin.

2 : How does Howie hold down his place in such a strong line-up ? As a newbie we are unaware of past form.....is he like Dan/Richie holding his place on former glories even though he is past his prime ?

3 : The 'Canes will choke and lose the Grand Final like they did in Super Rugga

Yeah I was thinking the same thing - was enjoying that post until the last line.

On the Howie question, isn't he related to someone better in the team?  Bit like Jeff Crowe or Nathan McCullum?

Not better, just luckier lately (until PJ's luck dice turned a bit pear shaped    )

Howie has been following the thoroughbreds a lot longer than I and is a "big game player". We are expecting big things this week.

We all know that this game has a "rooster to feather duster" history, so I wouldn't like to be heading to the final on the back of two consecutive big wins. But as Howie says "You know best John" :D

I'm the 'Quade Cooper' of the lineup, Cubesmeister, ....I follow a stream of silly moves and shonky play with one dazzling performance that tears the opposition apart ...and that keeps me in the lineup. I've got the dazzling performance pencilled in for the Grand Final against the Hurricanes..'cos let's face it, justified in looking straight past the Chiefs, surely. :)

Don't worry team-mates, I've got your backs !
