redrew2000 134 Report post Posted April 30, 2015 I was sitting at home today watching trackside so decided to have a few bets as did not have much else to do.Got to race 9 at Addington dogs and took a bet on the first three runners to be under 15.5. Winning numbers were 2,4 and 1 for a total of 7. Checked my account a few minutes later to see my winning ticket had only my stake money on it.Rang the tab and was told there was a late scratching so all bets were refunded. How ever the late scratching was at 12.20 and my bet was put on at 2.20.After i emailed them they informed me that the option should have being closed when the late scratching was declared but they forgot. So my winning bet was refunded by the MICKEY MOUSE outfit that call themselves the TAB, Just another reason to put more money in my Aussie account. What a bloody joke they are. I would ask them under what rule they did it - there will be one -hard to beat city hall- they want the mugs who bet 50k on shorties- they will only be letting that bloke on coz they either have him already or even they will figure they will get him. Bad enough with the FO at TAB Corp in AUS......Barnham and Bailey's has nothing on this lot, a good old boycott would be the right thing, but the poor old $ punter has no option really. If she wasn't good enough for the field the least they could do was give top odds or an any other option. The 50:1 they finally gave bit mean when many others were more than 1000:1 . tim vince 985 Report post Posted April 30, 2015 they look after the big punters very well ( sorry they are called clients)-like the casinos- give them a new hat and a ticket to the all blacks and smile and take their money- I am told that the tab paid a big punter 40k after he made repeated attempts to put a large bet on and it was refused by an in experienced bookie. It won and they paid out- very generous- not - its like 4 losing bets and of course get it off some one gradually not all at once- u get more that way. A great old mate and huge bookie Ber Clapham( deceased) used to tell me if a "client " lost 5k they would only take 2-3 off him. Take the 5 and he wouldn't bet again- Take 3 and he would lose 20 over time and that was in the sixties. The 5o buck punter will not get a look in generally.
