Huey 2,037 Report post Posted April 14, 2015 With those noms would that be the strongest field we have had in years? Particularly the first 8 noms.

talk 308 Report post Posted April 15, 2015 An excellent field. In fact the race card in general is of a very good standard. Just hope the rain stays away. Tauhei Notts
N1MUE 1,877 Report post Posted April 15, 2015 Bit like having the Cup and Derby in March... Weather is meant to be average, but we are coming into winter. Why's it like the Cup & Derby? Unlike the Easter and New Years Day Cup, the Auckland Cup and NZ Derby have nothing in their names to suggest they should be run at a different time? jess 1,244 Report post Posted April 18, 2015 Very good field alright. It looked like things were running against little Julinsky Prince - drawn the carpark (like most of the CD horses ) - lotsa weight/tiny horse - Opie engaged then stood down ... But now I'm not so sure. The rain has come, which won't bother him at all. A wide draw might not be so bad given the track. And Rory the replacement rider is on fire early on. Could it be the lil Prince's day??
rdytdy 5,343 Report post Posted April 19, 2015 wow 7.50 fixed odds on the sausage as he prepares for rocky let that sausage roll leith. Just seen your post Pogo. Once the rain came he had no show over 1600m on a slow track. The Eagle needs a good track. With the rain, the stocks of Pondarosa Miss soared following her run for fifth on a good track in the G1 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes two weeks ago when the winner broke the track record. Dropping 5kgs to 52kgs and with terrific slow track and Ellerslie course form she was way overs at $

rdytdy 5,343 Report post Posted April 19, 2015 The heavy track was no good for her. Have a look at her action. If you need any convincing have a look at her trial at Foxton. The horse that beat her at Rotorua is no slouch and he only just beat her with four lengths back to third. On a decent track watch her gallop. Gold Trail Stakes at Hastings in September dig up one of those cans in your backyard and just get on. pogo(aus)
rdytdy 5,343 Report post Posted April 19, 2015 I have just gone back and looked at all the 800m trial times that have been run this year (didn't go back any further) and her 45.15 is by far the quickest winning time for the distance of any heat including the older horses. No other horse including open handicappers have even broken 46 seconds and she did it on her ear. puha and pogo(aus)
