N1MUE 1,877 Report post Posted March 22, 2015 Don't remember it, but ran a search on NZ Racing. Won 12 races from 36 starts including a couple of Group 3s.
crustyngrizzly 1,682 Report post Posted March 22, 2015 I certainly remember her.My friend had a horse that he thought was pretty smart and took him to the Te Aroha trials only to get beaten into 2nd by 6 lengths by Decanka. The following trial at Cambridge he ran 2nd again behind a horse who may or may not have been under the influence of something, because he got beaten by 12 lengths by a horse who never won a race. At least my friends horse did a bit more than that when he finally got to the races

Lloyd Vivian 742 Report post Posted March 22, 2015 I remember her well! She was trained at Takanini by 'Deak' and they used to be in the stalls next to KG in those days. She was indeed by Decies and not overly big, in my memory. A good class mare.
Willem Barendsz 3 Report post Posted March 23, 2015 Yes she was trained by Brian Deacon at Hawera. Nice chestnut not overly big but strong filly. Raced with shadow roll in green and blue colours I think.

westie 2 Report post Posted April 5, 2015 I thought that name sounded familiar. We just secured a mare called Rhyme (by Spinning World) from Windsor Park and Decanka is her 3rd dam. The family is still going strong with Rhyme's daughter Ash a winner of 3 out of the last 4 and a number of well related siblings on the way. It was Decanka's damsire Test Case that attracted us - a son of Tessa Gillian and hence a full brother to Eight Carat's grand dam Courtessa. A number of black type winners after he hit the pedigree (Decanka produced Ready to Explode). Same family as Kiwi, The Phantom Chance etc.
