eljay 1,711 Report post Posted January 29, 2015 Guppy another first baller - pack your gear. Who's left - Latham not really a success today. That leaves Nathan. They got to keep trying new angles, it's too late to go with loyalty and prayer!
Username 36 Report post Posted January 31, 2015 You don't experiment now so close to the start of the cup McCullum and Guptill are set in stone. Guptill has a very nice ODI record, with a quality average for an opener and although he's been struggling a tad, he selects himself. McCullum has decided it's best for the balance of the team to open - this has allowed Elliot to come into the middle order and this has proven to be a masterstroke. The BC's will at least make the semis with this lineup. Wouldn't be surprised to see them in the final in Melbourne either. eljay 1,711 Report post Posted January 31, 2015 Good to see Guppy get some (not enough though) today. Brendan is by his own standards, an in and outer - played a stupid shot today. Guppy needs a minimum 50 on Tuesday to cover for McCallum. Their toughest match will be game one - against the Lankans. If both openers go cheap, and it looks like the Lankans will have their slinger playing. this could leave N Z having to play not only Aussie, but also the Yaapies and even possibly the Poms who no doubt will in their inimitable fashion upset someones chances. And we know for game one the BC's will lose the toss
eljay 1,711 Report post Posted January 31, 2015 One thought on Elliot. Really firing in his own quiet way and has become Mr Reliable. Let's hope he hasn't peaked too early.

eljay 1,711 Report post Posted March 21, 2015 I stand with red face and openly admit I was wrong. Should I pick on McCallum now, might encourage him to show just a little more responsibility with his batting. The problem with batting, you only get one chance, where a bowler who is hit for six or a fielder who drops a catch, remains to have another go! beerwithduncan 724 Report post Posted March 22, 2015 Been the best World Cup ever. Great batting, great bowling, some magnificent catches. So many wonderful memories. What a shame ISIS didn't just throw away their bombs and bullshit and take on their opposition on the cricket field. If they win their opposition have to praise Allah. If they lose they go back to their mud huts until the next world cup. THE TORCH
