jess 1,244 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 From the stipes' report - Wanganui gallops, 2 Oct 2014 after the horse finished 26 lengths back ..... Race 6 RACEWAY MOTEL 2040 .......... Trainer F Stammers was questioned regarding the performance of KALGOORLIE BOMBER which dropped out over the concluding stages and was distanced at the finish. In particular Mr Stammers was asked what his intentions were with the gelding over coming weeks as in recent starts KALGOORLIE BOMBER had proved uncompetitive. Mr Stammers in response stated that he had anticipated the track being more rain affected today which did not eventuate. Mr Stammers then stated that his intention is to race KALGOORLIE BOMBER next Thursday at the Tauherenikau Meeting and then reassess his options. Stewards advised Mr Stammers that they had concerns with KALGOORLIE BOMBER’S competiveness and that if there is no improvement then further action may be considered venusserena
camici 60 Report post Posted October 8, 2014 Kalgoorlie Bomber runs today in Race 8 on his home track.Heavy 10 more his go.Charlotte O'Beirne claims 4.Remarkably this will be his 145th start and only his 4th on his home track.Hope he can be competitive! If not Frank may note that the race is sponsored by Cooper Farm Services.Might be a cryptic clue there for Frank. Ruby 160 Report post Posted October 9, 2014 I think a nice retirement is in order - reflects badly on racing running an uncompetitive horse of his age even tho he beat one home this arvo. scooby3051
Scotch Thistle 133 Report post Posted October 9, 2014 Far too soon for retirement. He hasn't been tried over the jumps yet. Might leap like a stag.

Sayer 183 Report post Posted October 9, 2014 Hes still a way off the record of Quixall Crossett with 103 consecutive defeats in an 11-year career. On this site we are always going on about Racing being more than just a gambling exercise and about participation etc etc. If the horse is well in itself and the connections are content with their hobby then there should be no problem. The public are aware of the horses race credentials so should not be at risk and as far as I have seen the horse does not pose any problems for other horses or riders. Everyone should just get off their high horses . tasman man 11, Belinda, hedley and 1 other
Catalano 951 Report post Posted October 9, 2014 Sayer, I agree. In fact even moreso, why not make him into a racing folk hero with the uninitiated public? He'd make a good human interest piece in the mainstream media and the TAB could offer options on which half of the field he might finish in etc. The reality is, finding a home for old thoroughbreds isn't easy, and I'm sure given the option, the horse would rather be racing. puha 2,177 Report post Posted October 10, 2014 Was nt so long ago he won the interprovincial at good odds.Franks a very likeable guy and one of ravings characters always a smile on his dial. Not many people would carry on with a galloper for the reasons stated but who are we to judge. Turny 1,224 Report post Posted October 10, 2014 The horse may be uncompetitive now and probably time Frank found a new project - all the best to Frank, nice fella and one of our games true Battlers. The "Franks" are the backbone of our game, loving the game and their ponies battling the stresses and lack of leadership interest in their love of racing - The Franks would make less in a year than what the suits pocket in a month. Go get em Frank, in your corner every day elbow
Robert Best 175 Report post Posted October 10, 2014 Is not Frank on ACC from an accident at Tauheranikau. Rode into a wire stretched across track on quad bike.
