Ohokaman 5,829 Report post Posted August 19, 2014 More Joyous and her first foal, a filly by Frankel. The pedigree to be a Champion, will follow with interest.... skoota, aquaman and TBHunter

Rambling_Kidd 160 Report post Posted August 20, 2014 No horse is worth more than $20,000 unraced, the rest is hot air and bullshit.
Ohokaman 5,829 Report post Posted August 21, 2014 You old pessimist RK..... Given that Frankel's service fee is $250,000, and he is worth £100m, you might be a bit light there.. I reckon they would get $5m in a heartbeat. But being a filly, John Singleton would never sell it....
Bear 30 Report post Posted August 21, 2014 $5M? Nah, don't think so. Especially after what happened to BC's little bro OK, if this one went to the Easter sale? Starting point of $1M, leaping quick to $3M, then struggle to make $4M. Maybe $3.8M
sunlineboy 131 Report post Posted August 21, 2014 This horse is a little different than Black Caviar's.... By a champion, out of a champion. Both can win over more than 1200m and would reach $5mil with ease if it went to the sales.
Gordy55 177 Report post Posted August 22, 2014 Having no expertise on breeding or racing horses, what would be the earliest age of this horse would it be known, it was going to be anywhere as good as it's parents?
sunlineboy 131 Report post Posted August 22, 2014 This horse won't live up to her parents, because that's asking the almost impossible. They'll know if shes a decent horse in her three-year-old season I'd imagine. But, there is a lot of unknown about first seasoners. Black Caviar and All Too Hard were multiple Group I winners and competed at the highest level for most of their careers. There was also Moshe who was rather promising but had his career cut short by injury. Both More Joyous and Frankel are unproven on the breeding side as yet, and as we've seen many times before being a champion on the track doesn't necessarily equate to being a champion in the barn. Many buyers would see that.

Forgot to mention as well, with a colt theres greater breeding potential (mares only being able to produce one foal every season at most)
TBHunter 100 Report post Posted August 22, 2014 I know very little about breeding but surly this filly would be valued not by her race potential but by her potential to improve or build a line. hedley and sunlineboy
