richie 1,027 Report post Posted June 8, 2014 Does the racing at Auckland today seem a bit rougher than usual or is this normal for Doggies.I have taken 4 dogs in each of first 4 races and boxed in trifectas and eachtime been at least 2/3 dogs badly checked. Is this the reason that not alot of money in pools. Why dont they have enquiries and relegations in Dog racing? If a horse interferes with another horse they get relegated yet a dog can and nothing happens. This is my last day betting on dogs after what i witness first 4 races. mmmyb 277 Report post Posted June 8, 2014 Because they don't have a jockey telling them what to do. It's all them, no one to be held responsible dustydreamnz
richie 1,027 Report post Posted June 8, 2014 Because they don't have a jockey telling them what to do. It's all them, no one to be held responsible Dont understand it cos i seen horses just dart to right through no reason of jockey and they still get relegated. How many times dogs allowed to interfere with others before they get not allowed to race as commentator mentioned one dog today that had interfered with other dogs last 3 starts when trying get down to rails? modest mouse 469 Report post Posted June 8, 2014 Racing was rough today. Seemed to favour the outside boxes. Box 1 only worked in the last race.

I switched from horse racing years ago because in horse racing there are so many variables. Track conditions are more variable, there's more tracks, jockey error, far more horses get held up than dogs get checked, horse racing distances vary more, don't back up as well, aren't as consistent. I could go on... bblunt

You can always do the form for horses on track conditions, draw, the way jockeys ride but how do you factor in dogs going AWOL. In the end that's just my opinion and it's your choice where you spend your money. I'm not a professional but I go ok. It's taken years and years of hard work and recording bets etc. As for today I battled away and made a bit, certainly not loaded. mmmyb 277 Report post Posted June 8, 2014 If you really study you get to know the dog racing style. Dogs that crash to the rail. Jump and hold their line. Runs home like a freight train.. It's all about getting it right on the day . The form for the dogs I find is very similar to the horses. But you need to take into account the other dogs racing style and predict what's going to happen throughout the race. I like to call it drawing a picture of the race in your mind. hedley
dustydreamnz 493 Report post Posted June 9, 2014 There are many more unlucky runners in each gallops race, it's nigh on impossible to draw a speed map! Harness is even harder hence why you see constant big dividends. josh77 and alltheway!!!
