In the gallops forum I read that they're scrapping Monday gallops.  Will be good if they do because there will be less time between dog races.  I could never see Monday gallops lasting.

From a punters perspective that's a good thing.

 

From a handlers, not so much

 

But at Manawatu you need a minimum of 20 minutes between races to get all the dogs out in time, if you have a dogs in consecutive races.

 

By the time you get off the dais, its time to run back to get the next one, plus you have to hose down, and put away your dog from the previous race. And lord help you if you have strapping to do + wanting a stir up.

Fair enough, was strictly looking at it from a punters point of view!  I fall asleep when they have 30 minute gaps.
