Right first time 1,913 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 Spring Trans-Tasman Super Comp BLUES team - likely Major Championship winners - seek a 'sub' to fill in for our team member 'Alf' this coming Saturday 12 October only. Previous Super Comp experience preferred but certainly not essential. If you are keen, you are reliable, and you have a sense of humour - then the BLUES team will be very happy if you will please apply to fill this one-week vacancy. If interested to apply, please post on this thread. Thank you. "Right First Time" (RFT) Howie Peter Jenkins
Right first time 1,913 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 For any newcomer wishing to apply, who is not already familiar with what is required when taking part, the following is the outline:- The draw that will be posted will pit individual players from the two teams that have been drawn to play each other, against each other in head-to-head competition. The player with the most $$$ at the conclusion of the round is the winner for his team. The team with 3 or more winners wins the match. Selections. Competitors are required to select two runners per race in 10 specified races, with up to two subs also able to be posted (optional). All selections should be posted at the same time, prior to the first specified race. Scratching Rule. You may post replacements for any scratching either with your original selection post or up until the start of the first race. Late scratchings will see your selection transferred to the TAB sub or if the TAB sub is your other selection then to the 2nd favourite by TAB win odds. If more than one horse meets the latter criteria then the replacement will be the horse with the higher number.Investments. Each selection will be regarded as an imaginary $10 win bet while if both selections start, a $2 quinella combining the two selections will also be credited to the competitor. So that's a $22 investment per race per competitor.Best Bet. Each selector will choose one race in each country as a "best bet" selection. All $$$ earned from these races will be doubled. In the event of scratchings the same best bet (BB) will apply. There will be no transference to a subsequent race. Thanks. Right first time 1,913 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 hehe ...I'm sure you'd come up with some real doozies, Dave, to put us Jafas firmly on the back foot ! I'm not saying we're completely discarding your kind offer, but let's just say ... don't phone us, we'll phone you. Roll on Saturday eh, the big rematch ! Have to say I wasn't expecting it to come about quite so soon, but it is what it is ! Good luck.

LastOf40 547 Report post Posted October 9, 2013 Howie At this rate of volunteers we may have to enter our old racecafe mate "Sean Zinnie Kirwan" ! I thought Tassie Man would have been eager to represent the Blues but evidently not. Could be an 10am Satuday selection meeting, over a latte on Ponsonby Rd, Howie? what ya think? LastOf40 547 Report post Posted October 9, 2013 Thanks MrZim Howie will probably be in touch to complete formalities. Short term transfers are a breeze. It probably will save time if you got a sneak preview of the standard Blues aptitude test : 1. For how many consecutive years did Auckland hold the shield? 2. Which year was Auckland the Capital of NZ? 3. Is Otago in a]Australia b] USA c] not sure but I will look it up? 4. Have you ever worn black and red together? With an eye patch? 5. You study the fields over a a] cup of tea b]speights c] mocha frappaccino ? Even Howie scored a B+ !!!
