Peter R S 408 Report post Posted March 13, 2010 Elite State / Ngala we have 5 genuine untried dogs in the early stages of breaking in. They will be placed with trainers (nothing committed yet) inside the next 3 months. The available share in each dog costs $750 plus a commitment to cover 25% of the racing costs from 1 April (maximum $150 per month). A great way to get involved with little time to wait to have your race dog on the track, all dogs are over 30kg and have been properly reared, none are named yet, so now is the time to get on board. Priced just to recover some of the costs to date as one owner unable to continue.

bank time 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2010 that seems alot per dog from a breeding of a dog that never won a c5 race and a sire worth $2000 a straw how much did you pay per dog and does the payment of $3000 per dog incl the rearing and breaking in cost and will the dogs be trained on 50/50 deal or training fee's.thanks
Peter R S 408 Report post Posted March 15, 2010 It costs money to breed and rear a greyhound, irrespective of the quality of the breeding. The straw cost is just a small part of it. In my opinion this breeding was well chosen and the size and appearance of the offspring bears this out. The price is under what each dog has cost. We don't know their abilities yet so any of them could turn out to be the best of the litter, and any other could be the worst. The best may be top class or just ordinary, the worst may be a total dud slow dog or may still win lots of races. Life's a gamble! We expect to pay a trainer to prepare each of these dogs and pay our way. The 25% share owner can expect to pay about $150 per month, and hopefully get it all back (and more) from racing success. Three are being broken in now, the other two are soon to follow. The new owners of each dog will be paying from 1 April, their share of the actual costs. Great way for a newcomer to get a taste for greyhound ownership, or someone who has been involved previously to go again with little time to wait. At approx 18 months now they won't be far away. I assume from the tone of your posting that you are just commenting and this opportunity doesn't appeal? Best that we share our fun with someone positive. Peter R S 408 Report post Posted March 31, 2010 would like the opportunity to get involved with a quarter share in a dog which is still untried but likely to get to the races within the next few months? Genuine opportunity for a modest outlay - there can be no better risk/return in racing than an untried greyhound of good size and parentage at this age and for this cost. We can't guarantee a champion, but we also can't rule that out because the ability of these dogs is truly unknown.
baillie 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2010 kind of interested (complete novice having never owned a greyhound before though) What area of the country are the dogs likely to be trained and racing??
Peter R S 408 Report post Posted April 5, 2010 Nothing confirmed yet so we are open to suggestions. Some of the owners would like them trained in CD so they can pat them occasionally and go to the races to see them run. They are hoping someone from the CD shows interest, maybe a trainer who can introduce an owner for the 25% available. Having said that, the two sold are now in Wayne Steele's kennels in Waikato (one black and one blue) because Wayne was involved in getting the 25% sold. Another (black) is finished with the breakers and is with Graeme Calverley; we are still keen to sell the 25%. The other two (a blue and a white) are just arriving at the breakers now and at this stage could end up anywhere. You can contact me directly by email by right clicking on my user name. Peter R S 408 Report post Posted April 15, 2010 the lack of interest. Having raced quite a few over the years, I know this is a really good opportunity for a fun interest from a small outlay. One sold, one dithering, we have a black, a black and white, a blue and a white. All great looking dogs with the potential to win plenty. Trainers if you want another dog in your kennel, fund a 25% share or find an owner for it, and get a ready to go race dog to train. Guest G McCarthy Report post Posted May 2, 2010 Similar cross as the BDC x groovy jewels (cool groovy etc), and the latest BDC x stag night folly's that are going well. Just the best over TPrince x groovy dancer damline. Wouldnt surprise if these pups could gallop, pups dont get much better bred than these. Cheers for the email Peter.
