Really nice card of doggies at Wanganui tonight, should be a top nights racing. Thought I'd share my views as there has been some good discussion on here latley

R6- #5 Deanne's Magic

Formerly with the Faheys having his first start for Blair Shaw who's team are going pretty well at the moment. I've followed this dog since his first start in NZ and he has really impressed me. Ran rally good time over 295m at Addington and I am expecting a huge race from him tonight. Bookies have opened him up at $8.5 and it will be interesting to see how the tote plays. Pretty hot form field with plenty of speed in it. Each way all day Deanne's Magic.

R7- #3 Guru Goose

Gotta admit I've always had a bit of a man crush on the goose, easily one of my favourite dogs. Has been missing the jump the last few starts and has been finishing his races off strongly with little luck. Admittedly has been a tad disappointing but on his day he is in the top 3 sprinters in the C.D. Am expecting him to jump away tonight and get back into the winners circle.

Look forward to hearing others thoughts, good luck to all getting involved.

You're a good judge reilly however I can't see Deanne's Magic running a place and Guru Goose seems unders at $2.30ff as he has been awful by his standards and has Cool Charmer drawn on his outside.  I'll see if I can come back with anything.

Little competition since dusty potted my 2 tips lol. Pick a dog R6/R7 and whoever has the highest winning margain / lowest losing margain combined is the winner. Will go halves with the winner in a $20 place 6 next week depending on the meetings. My selections obviously Deanne's / Goose. If theres a tie will do a play off competition on Sunday.

Bonus place 6 definitely great value, have been very disappointed with the majority of place 6 pools at the dogs latley, Friday night excluded.

I still think it's a sensational bet type, easily the best we've had.  I haven't done as well lately but still making a profit.  I think specialising in certain bet types is the way to go rather than punting on everything eg mouse racing in Scotland.  Everyone is different-for me Place 6, First 4's and Trebles are my faves.

Thought they were both unlucky though not good runs and still might not have placed.  My tips were decent though I don't know how Thrilling Brat didn't win.

Went to the Wanganui dogs on Friday night for the first time in a few years and thoroughly enjoyed the night out.  It was the first time I had seen the 'new' grandstand and thought the facility was excellent,  It was good to see so many people on course (and a large number of young people).  I even managed to back a few winners.

 

Told the missus I'd streak a 520m if Thrilling Brat got beat, but thankfully for all on track I reneged on that promise... the place would have emptied out in no time at all.

 

I liked Rosemore Osti off the 1 box and got a wee bit of the $3.20ff and the $7.20 quinella with Cool Charmer.  Also had a few place collects with Cawbourne Flick, Magic Lass, and Enazuma.

 

I lost most of my profit on the aforementioned Brat who raced so wide I could've just about leaned over the outside rail and given it a solid kick up the arse coming down the front straight both times.

 

Apart from a somewhat unfriendly tote operator who didn't seem to know a lot about customer service it was a really enjoyable night... plenty of selection at the bar, the meal was good, comfortable facilities... perhaps could use 1 or 2 extra tote windows?? 

 

I will be making the drive up from Wellington more often on a Friday afternoon.

There's only one e in Vanessa. But some weird people swap an a for an e, or stick an h ("an aitch"? "a haitch"? another bloody h-word...) in Wanganui. Doesn't really matter; there are more important things to worry about than silly names with silly letters that shouldn't be there.
