Fisher hasn't been the same since his wife's first baby almost made him withdraw when contending in British open,Cabrera bello must be tough, lowest first round scores I've seen, expected -10 to win goin by previous years, wind mustn't of played a part today?

How good was Aguilar ! Holed from fairway to tie lead with Hansen who after bogey needs a bird for playoff,Aguilar has only played 3or 4 times this year after a wrist injury while mountain biking has had a similar amazing run of birds in one of the desert swing tournaments years ago,62,-14 after 9 holes ends -22.....lpga na yeon choi 40-1 won British open so with the wind predicted to be gusty must be a fair sniff

So much for the forecast winds ! -7 last round sounds like a testing time after three rounds they were all out to be -9 ....jb was gooood,I thought next week was his go but after seeing him in the mix through 2 rounds had to take the 14s,Ernst was ok but like many needed to get those 8-10 footers ,Kevin na looks like he's back to the form that had him contending at the players a few years back and du Jong may be worthy of serious respect...when's jimmy walker goin to show up again?

They had trouble with the greens at tpc sawgrass due to a very wet winter and as a result the greens will be slower on the stimp which should lead to lower scores, -13 has been the average winning number with Greg Normans -24 the standout low(sheesh)...goin from phils comments -18 at least should win????.....who's pin point with course form...Stenson ,watney likes slow...and kaymer!

Yes I think Stenson  is ready Gruffy...Him and Adam Scott will do me this week. Kaymer did OK mate....wasn't far off the pace. I got a couple of 2nds in Wie and Furyk (had written him off after 54)....I am an "outright" (result) man though with regards to the punt.

Should be a good game on Friday mate.......Bowenless cowboys by 6 ;) and Warriors by plenty.

I put 20 on blixt and 5 on kaymer to lead...silly,but at 80s a fair start zig, players that shoot low in round 1 normally burn but kaymer has finally mastered his swing change, 3years and paying off unlike Craig perks, his game looks rock solid but as you know being in contention only his mental approach can stop him

What do you make of it? Speith missed at least 6 putts by mm and looked the better player until later in round,Garcia is now within striking distance and playing out of lead group will assist particularly with a guy like senden, low last round may come from Ryan Moore ,finding a lot of fairways !

We will see how the bowenless cowboys go when it's going to be felt the most around origin ziggy....I punted 2 players top 5 in European and pga....Scott Henry and George Murray in Madeira with kaymer blixt players...was late Thursday and missed multis...12000-1 leaders and 640-1 top 5... Henry lost in a playoff (200-1)which would of really rubbed salt into a deep wound...that's punting, got nice collect but results like this come around like halleys comet

Colonial is shaping as finish of the year, last time we had a compressed leaderboard ended in a 3 man playoff,Scott 2 back 13-1 freshly ranked number 1 with Stenson looming at wentworth, albeit 7 shots behind bjorn who produced a birdie flurry back nine round 3 to be 5 clear of Luke on -10,mcilroy fresh from his separation after wedding invites were sent looms at -8,the relief to have escaped wedlock is noticeable .....I've noticed the Texan local palmer choke up hard when presented with winning chance so I'm going to say he wins from 40th 3 back at 50-1 ahead of jimmy walker ($9)and Scott ($13)....bjorn- he doesn't seem to travel well leading, played indifferently when beaten by els in Germany (els just as bad)with levy unlucky not to beat them both ,so I'm going to suggest the hangover from yesterday's birdie fest burns him early to set up a Donald win(Donald choked hard when beaten by Simon khan a few years back when leading) so better suited here, some good players all within 4 shots of Luke and maybe it's time Stenson showed us a glimpse of last seasons form($20 bjorn out)being my pick to upset the apple cart .british open this year is shaping as best in years!

Scott/mcilroy 104-1 Sunday night.... This week nordea masters, first names spring to mind.locals stenson, noren, karlsson and blixt ,then ilonen from Finland and the Frenchman vastly improved Alex levy...get on blixt, beat Stenson in a two ball last year on pga (player of year)and finished second to ilonen here after missing the cut the previous year, vastly improved and after the Florida based swede went close in masters looks primed for this, failed in players but nice effort to finish top ten at wentworth after being late and not knowing the tricky course .Get on! He's 30 climbing the world rankings and will get near the top.class

....still can't believe jonas missed the cut? Love to know what happened, although anders Hansen shot +8 after a good week previous and a good season to date so who knows,it's golf after all.....Austria....it looks to obvious joost was a cert beat against ferrie before winning last year, very tough, roughy Richard bland...noticed yavegny kafelnikov in,his dream is to play in 2016 Olympic golf, big ask with a rank around 1250 but hey still the last player to win a grand slam singles and doubles at same tournament(French open)......pga .st Jude classic....week before us open ...westwood must go close! His breakthrough major after a win the previous week would be fitting...Martin Flores the real smokey, holding form and accurate off tee...fingers crossed after last weeks weird happenings

Luiten looked home, uncharacteristic final round but great effort from lundberg! Alker!! How good is this guy, great win in web.com playoff and comes into us open at 300-1,interesting to note the last kiwi to play an open here won in 2005 Michael Campbell and Danny lee won the 2008 Amateur here so Nz has a good connection, the course is playing 300 yards longer this edition at 7500 odd yards, alker has beaten plenty of these guys in the past .....westwood? Ugly 2nd round but with us open prep on mind maybe he needed to bail out? I'm punting jimmy walker, the name is synonymous with top blokes and he deserves a major! 50-1 done. The weather forecast looks changeable Thursday Friday with the earlier tees Thursday receiving cloudy 8km conditions around 24 degrees, afternoon wind picks up to 16km with less humidity so westwood (7.20am)and mickleson(8am) get early chance, bubba use to live 100km north of here so not sure about course experience, there are some nice doglegs so if the course suits his eye it's all on playing at 7500 yds and he will get a chance at joining the 4 other players winning masters and us open in the same year, retief goosen lead 05 open here before shooting last round 81 and is playing into form...forgetting his last hole today, ugly triple it was

Can kaymer win on mothers and Father's Day weekends back to back? We know he isn't a choker from years on europeantour particularly that 2nd BMW and of course us pga win but the golf course will get the final say, can't say I'm a fan of the waste areas, they penalise some while others still get opportunities to attack pins, most other years par would be a great score here...the fairy tale win would be Erik Compton two heart replacements and the second belongs to a young man who was killed by a hit and run driver, his family must feel Erik is their representative and there wouldn't be a dry eye in the place,I was astounded he was paying 40-1 top 3 yesterday, was certainly worth a lazy 20 with his liking for tough courses ..long way to go but kaymers 74 tomorrow will help, don't write off some of these guys at +1 and 2 we've seen weird things happen before in opens

Comptons the man,the astute cashed in,the lip out birdie at 7 was the turning point of his round, that just as kaymer bogeyed would of had him close enough for kaymer to get nervous, bring back the open rough!

Rory....looks like breaking it off with wozniaki is starting to hit home,he's probably watched the on line mail video of the hot boded Dane at a Miami beach with the massive serena Williams with a tight one piece showing off most of her rump(sunline specs) how long before he cracks and tries to make up? Will be interesting

My fav two rough golfers are lining up tomorrow,James Driscoll and andres Romero and they go ok at travellers so beware...Danny lee looks ok here and i have a sneaky feeling Louie oosthuizen could be the hardest to beat outside of the course specialist bubba.....Lydia ko has the kiwi factor on a course that has been very kind to Nz so take the 17 and run!!

Always do your homework! Louis oosthuizen has had a few injuries since his open win and after his ligament damaged hunting ankle he has acquired a bad back involving two disks so his future prospects have diminished somewhat,he withdrew today after 7 holes on even par. Defending champ ken duke who they profiled on inside the pga started well -2 through 3 with Kevin Steele leading -8....bubba in the clubhouse -3

Will we see a dramatic finish here? Rory has looked human and is showing a little unseen aggression which may be due to his new weights regiment...does the fact he's playing with weisberger help him here? The leaderboard is littered with long hitters and this course looks similar to the one berns won his maiden europeantour title on from memory, choke? Unchartered territory but a win

wouldn't be a surprise, the drive on the opening hole will set the tone....there are a few players here notorious for big finishes the most notable Jamie Donaldson,100-1 ok,Ryan palmer is the biggest choker in the top ten but is dangerous until he finds the lead and jim furyk who has a hot putter in final rounds -7 six back from Rory forlorn? Is there a 64 out there for the chasing pack? -15 under look the mark or will mcilroy push it to. 17..will be interesting,a lot of good pairings here and will suit those chasing

great field ! looks the toughest to pick in years so much good form going in not to mention phils bad form which can be a good lead....brian Harman first to tee off and im hoping he stays leading(Jonas blixt potential),left handed with plenty of experience around augusta in his youth, todd and russel Henley amoung other similar, ryan palmer has attracted plenty of interest dropping from 81 to 41 to lead but prone to choking hard late...don't like the first round tee time for Jason day but he looked the best chance to me,respect around stenson, westwood and looking for an old smokey ernie els to raise some eyebrows along with gary woodland, throw a dart theres that many realistic chances and re evaluate after round one.happy punting!

Speiths a unit alright,he did get a decent amount of good fortune to go with his good play and those clutch putts sealed the deal, looked as though rose cashed in most of his chips the previous day and didnt apply the necessary pressure(that chip on the par 3 when just catching the slope didnt help)...speith carrying the par 5 13 must of been a mistake, surely he was aiming 6ft further left as the majority of the field did.??? Dustin johnson looked very unlucky and could of easily been 6 shots better off...this us open at the links in washington is going to be a beauty, only other event played there was 2010 us amatuer won by peter ulhein who has shown talent on euro tour in similar surroundings(course use to be a quarry)...jamie donaldson ,ricky fowler and ernie im liking...this week us pga at the short hilton head layout which requires accuracy from the tee and touch around the small greens(gir wouldnt hurt)...few with history here like boo, furyk, donald, kuchar, jerry kelly ...David toms could be a real spoiler but im seeing Mark wilson winning this, having a good start to his season and this course suits perfectly at 201/ 41 dont have to put much on !
