modest mouse 469 Report post Posted March 19, 2013 Just reading the Herald headlines on the net. Christchurch dog meeting last Friday raided by 3 councils. They must be very desperate to go and look for council registration, during a race meeting. Wonder who's behind it. Are not all dogs microchipped now? Idolmite 2,451 Report post Posted March 20, 2013 A great saving of ratepayer's money, basically letting the dogs come to them?

Are not all dogs microchipped now? a complete waste of everyones time, you would think council employees would have something better to do with their time. Alesha_666 45 Report post Posted March 22, 2013 its Mr Cross dresser at it again. He been putting pressure on the councils to crack down on greyhounds. I have recieved emails from him in the past through facebook threatening to get me raided by the council. he can go ahead.. all my 14 dogs are registererd. & 7 of those are young pups. He has a bee in his bonnet about us making money from our dogs and believes we dont fork out to register them which isnt fair as all other dogs owners have to pay he reckons!! He LOVES the fact that here in Marton they have a special low fee for racing greyhounds off $35.. under half the price that you have to pay for a regular pet dog. hahaha. Suck that Aaron. modest mouse 469 Report post Posted March 22, 2013 It's not the registration of the dogs I object to. It's the tactics.
xfire 7 Report post Posted March 28, 2013 Alesha, went to Marton Council to register a new dog on Wednesday and got told they no longer have the $35 rate for greyhounds and have to apply for the Approved Owner Status to get this rate or pay full rate. Have been in on two different occasions this year and been able to register dogs for $35 so have no idea what has changed. They kept saying as we make money from the dogs we have to pay full rate. Seems a complete turnaround on their part.
modest mouse 469 Report post Posted March 28, 2013 You know where that comment comes from. Goes to show how easily they are persuaded. Should have nothing to do with us making money out of dogs. We pay enough to the Assoc to have them registered. Our Council is 3 at $75,- and the rest at $20.- . Can't have it anymore reasonable.
