Uriah Heap 481 Report post Posted March 14, 2013 Hot day, hard and fast outfield, flat pitch, big crowd, win the toss and .........bowl?? Why would ya?
eljay 1,719 Report post Posted March 14, 2013 Sir Donald Bradman said "if you win the toss and the wicket is good, bat, but if wicket not good think about it and then bat." Wickets do not get better with wear do they? Sure they may have a bit of juice in them early on but if you are a test cricketer you should be able handle that and defend till the pitch loses it's early fire. Remember Brendan this is a 5 day test not a hit and giggle limited over affair.
Uriah Heap 481 Report post Posted March 14, 2013 He'd have also been aware that this block had 5 million runs hit on it in the past month.
ziggy09 384 Report post Posted March 15, 2013 geez....don't get me started guys. Already expressed my views of our "newly elected" captain....and his buddy Hesson. Conceded any thoughts/chance of winning the test with this decision to field. Footie season has started so cricket won't be getting any of my time other than a moan on here
eljay 1,719 Report post Posted March 22, 2013 McCallum got it right this time. Lose the toss. It was reported that he would have bowled if he had won it!!
