GONSTA 1,148 Report post Posted October 7, 2009 You dont see much better racing than this saturday at caufield, super fields!! How good is the caufield guineas, what an amazing batch of 3yos. I find the form very hard to lineup, I thought Trustings effort for 2nd last start was one of the best efforts ive seen and the way he came home he really does look like a top liner! Will be intresting too see how KING Mufhasa goes in the Toorak, a very very good horse and a realistic chance! In the yalumba it really does look like a match race between WHOBE / HOD but both will be peaking for their number 1 goal in a couple weeks so you couldnt be to confident of where they are at. Neil Macaskill 2 Report post Posted October 7, 2009 I backed Tickets modestly last Saturday and he won in the style of a really top galloper in the making, with scope. Zarita let me down badly last start and I felt a bit sick about my Cox money. Just hope she goes a whole heap better on Saturday, and thereby lies my little double in Aussie this weekend. Goot a kick out of Monaco Consul even though I didn't back it though. Wonder if Winston Peters did???

I have a nice double going with Irish Lights (who won't be beaten in the 1000 Guineas on Wednesday)

I can see a smouldering Winston giving you a filthy look, Neil, and holding up a big sign saying 'NO!'...

GONSTA 1,148 Report post Posted October 8, 2009 Caufield Guineas 1ST SO YOU THINK (NZ) :flower: Gee, I hope you are right, but Denman does look the one. I have a nice double going with Irish Lights (who won't be beaten in the 1000 Guineas on Wednesday) How good did Irish lights look in the guineas prelude, really raced away like a good horse, didnt beat much tho but definetley has the edge over that lot! Whobe at $2.50, I think he will position handier and be too fast for HOD but a race were i wouldnt be at all suprised if Nom du jeu or V and P. sunlineboy 131 Report post Posted October 9, 2009 Denman looked a little tired in its last run and so you think is my personal up and coming horse. Black Piranha to beat the stables horse simply because of the draw.. $6.
The Apprentice 1 Report post Posted October 9, 2009 an upset in the Toorak. This race often throws up good priced winners from down in the field.

Todamax101 533 Report post Posted October 9, 2009 Has Sam been suspended again? Not on Culminate or Mufhasa. Sam hasn't been suspended. The connections of King Mufhasa opted for a local rider, so Damien Oliver was given the ride. Sam is over at Moonee Valley tonight riding in an international womens invitational race, and will be sitting in the stands at Caulfield tomorrow to cheer on the King. The Apprentice 1 Report post Posted October 9, 2009 I hope you are right. I think Mufasa can win this race even from his wide gate. The 1600m start can have horses winning from the outside draws. I've taken a few Caulfield multi's anchored with Mufasa as I couldn't find a better horse at 16/1.
