Ruby 160 Report post Posted February 27, 2013 Hope all is well with the horse himself and just because of results or a typo??
Lloyd Vivian 742 Report post Posted February 28, 2013 No surprises there - very disappointing to date. Capital Diamond looked OK but you'd have to give the dam a bit of credit there in hindsight. If they can't do more than LU has to date with 'the Cambridge Opportunity" as Sir P likes to call it - then he's simply no good. Sir P can spot a dud as well as the next bloke and knows when it's time to move on.

Don't expect to see Stravinsky back as well - went back to Japan in Jan, possibly one way ticket based on the rumours. Interesting times at CS, they need Tavistock to kick off early, and based on the sales results for Keeper, they would have to review his fee- though he still churns out the winners in HK (watch keep-a-pin) and tyne cot obviously is a nice horse. He never really had a standout in Oz - outside of Miss Keepsake, Linky Dink who was a one hit and Sender? Zabeel, probably at the end of it now - the foal crop on the deck now most likely his last. Lloyd Vivian 742 Report post Posted March 6, 2013 Interesting indeed. I'm a fan of Keeper - he's such a genuine horse and has done a great job, particularly with his fillies. [which is one reason I have a broodmare by him] Tyne Cot looks a top-liner in the making. Tavistock is something of an enigma to me, being a Montjeu that could sprint - I'll watch his stock with interest when they start racing; I'm very curious what they will do. Of course, the new horse Cape Blanco will get a dream start - but we're years away from knowing if he makes a sire....

Lloyd Vivian 742 Report post Posted April 11, 2013 This from the Cambridge Stud website: Dual Gr.1 winner POWER for Cambridge StudPosted On: Thursday, 11 April 2013 Sir Patrick Hogan has announced today that the Coolmore Stud-owned Power (Oasis Dream ex Frappe, by Inchinor) will shuttle to Cambridge Stud for the coming breeding season. Power offers breeders fantastic racetrack performance coupled with a sire line utterly-proven in this part of the world. Power was a Group One winner at both two and three years. At two he raced 6 times; won 4 of them and was placed in the other two outings, as follows WON Curragh National Stakes-Gr.1 (7.75f) WON Royal Ascot Coventry Stakes-Gr.2 (6f) WON Curragh Marble Hill Stakes-LR (5.5f) WON Curragh Alfred Nobel 2YO Maiden Stakes (6.5f) 2ND Curragh Phoenix Stakes-Gr.1 (6.5f) 2nd Newmarket Dewhurst Stakes-Gr.1 (7f) Sir Patrick Hogan pointed out a significant fact about Power and his first three dams. “Power won his two-year-old debut run; so did his mother, so did his second dam and so did his third dam,†he said today. At three years Power trained on Irish Two Thousand Guineas-Gr.1 (8.75f) for trainer Aidan O’Brien. In all Power had 9 starts, 6 of those were at Group One level. He won 5 times and was twice placed second before being retired to Coolmore Ireland for this year’s breeding season. Power is a son of Oasis Dream (62 SW), Great Britain’s second-leading sire in 2009 and 2010 and third on that list in 2011. Power is a grandson of Green Desert; his sire-sons include the successful stallions Desert Sun (sire of Sunline), Cape Cross (sire of Seachange) and Volksraad (8 times Champion NZ Sire). A fee for Power will be announced in the coming week.
