I guess that all those unplaced runs by Muf lost him many rating points....

Makes an 'ass' of the ratings system in my book..Must REALLY grate the owners of O'Cartier that the only time they get any respect for their horse is by the handicapper! And Muphasa only needs a good track to bounce back big-time on Saturday..will he get it???

And Muphasa only needs a good track to bounce back big-time on Saturday..will he get it??? Do people think that O'Cartier has been unfairly weighted? Or Do people think that Mufhasa should be rated higher than O'Cartier purely on his group one wins?
sunlineboy 131 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 I think its everyones opinion that Mufhasa is the far superior horse but the ratings dont show that. Im sure there will be some who disagree though. SS?

Willem Barendsz 3 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 Do people think that O'Cartier has been unfairly weighted? Or Do people think that Mufhasa should be rated higher than O'Cartier purely on his group one wins? It's a weight for age event, not a handicap, so the handicapper has no say in the weights. Unfair doesn't come into this one.
Richard Edmunds 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 Do people think that O'Cartier has been unfairly weighted? Or Do people think that Mufhasa should be rated higher than O'Cartier purely on his group one wins? It doesn't actually matter in this race, since it's WFA. Centrofold 147 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 It's a weight for age event, not a handicap, so the handicapper has no say in the weights. Unfair doesn't come into this one. So, it is the one point in the ratings that has some people miffed? So how does the rating system work? Is it so many points per win or place in any race that gains rating points? That is O'Cartier has had more wins than Mufhasa, so therefore he is higher rated? Mufhasa will be better placed in this race, for sure

tasman man 742 Report post Posted February 13, 2010 .....didn't see some early races but latter races there were several horses finishing hard wide out and taking the medals , while those on fence looked tied to it . Seemed to be top coming off fence , but dust wider out. Even Mufhasa who trailled made his run out several metres. But it was the horses out wide getting the Chocolates.....Elbaz , VB , Tavis , WP , and that last roughie.
