Think he can develop into a more than handy Union player once he learns the game

Was funny the other day he was shown a yellow card for an infringement, and went back into the line of play, he must have thought it was like soccer.

Happy B'day Cat

Cheers for the birthday wishes Von.

Folau is a beast but he also has skill to go with his size. Fullback will be his best position IMO. The skills from AFL should set him up well.

For outside backs in particular, the transition from League to Union and Vice Versa isn't as tough as it would be for a midfield back or forward.

On a related issue, the 'SBW clause' will be written in to future contracts on a regular basis from now on I reckon. Meaning one year contracts, and the ability to switch effortlessly between codes. Hey,why not win a World Cup(league) one year, another World Cup the next(Union) and an Olympic Gold Medal(7s).

Oh to be able :)

I had a couple of Qs for ya Cat, but one has been answered, was always wondering why so many outside backs made the transition but you hardly ever seen a forward, Brad Thorn the exception.

Looking forward to watching Falou play for the Tah's was thinking Fullback as well

Talkabout a roller coaster ride for Deans last year 22-0 loss at Eden Park, beaten by Scotland at home, and a loss to Tonga?? he was gone for all money, rubbished in the media, hammered by the likes of Greg Martin, and Campesse, but somehow survived on the back of being unbeaten against the springbok with a 31-8 win at Pretoria win over England Wales and Argentina and an unbeliveable 18 all draw against the ABs at Suncorp,Geez that game at Suncorp had some twists sirens gone Wallabies trying for ages to set for a drop goal and finally penalised, my mate goes well thats it geez you guys were lucky, I turned to him and said this games not over Carter won't kick this out, Champions are never beaten, and sure enough the AB's made their way down the field to narrowly miss the drop.

There's no doubt the Wallabies can field a world class backline and when Falou makes his mark I can see this clash now Dagg and Falou, 9=Genia 10=Cooper 11=Ioane 12 Beale 13=JOC 14 Ashley Cooper 15 Falou, what lets them down is their forward pack, the AB's have it all over the Wallabies take out Pocock and they field an ordinary engine room.

Was trying to think if any league forwards could make the transition and not to many sprung to mind, maybe James Tamou, but reckon he would choose the AB's.

On SBW when he left the Bulldogs, he followed in the same footsteps as Mundine, Mundine walked out on Saints halfway through the season took a flight overseas before returning and saying he would be finishing up,
I have no doubt SBW will see the season out with the Roosters, he may even sign on for one more season, otherwise he won't be able to play in the R/League WC.
He will then return to NZ play in the S15, and qualify to once again be eligible to represent NZ at the World Cup, then hang on and be part of the NZ olympic squad go to Rio and win a Gold Medal, WOW thats some resume right there, whether ya love em or hate em, he is an outstanding talent.

So that leads me to the other Q With you being close to the 7s Will SBW be a walk up start to play in RIO.

Seems harsh on someone who is a specialist 7s player who may have to make way for a player on reputation, who will then once again leave the code.

Oh to be able for sure.

Looking forward to watching Cooper rebound this season, love watching him play

My man Will Chambers never quite made it in the 15 man game, not quite the superstar that I thought, but still a pretty handy league player.

This years prediction Roger Tuivasa Scheck a name to remember plays for the Roosters will play fullback when Minichello is finished, thank goodness he wont be eligible to play State of Origin

Jarrod Warea-Hargreaves was courted by the NSW Waratahs before turning to League. He has an extensive Union background.

As for SBW at 7s,he would easily make it as a 7s forward. He has the height for ball in the air,the offload game plus the physical skill set for the breakdown. He lacks that electric step and acceleration that a 7s back has. But yeah, lock him in.

I thought I had Shaun Johnson for a 7s tourney last October but it fell through . I'll keep trying.

Union's on a bit of a high over here at the mo, One of my Kiwi mates is a die hard Union fan and he wanted to go to the test match Wallabies v Lions, in Brissy, I said yip lets do it, we went online to book them in the morning and they were all sold out, apparently the three tests sold out in 15 minutes...WOW!

Looking forward to seeing Izzy play when the Reds take on the Tah's, plenty of speculation, but I reckon he'll make the grade, over 40,000 tickets already sold for this match, i see Robbie was in the crowd in Mlb for the first match, no doubt he will be in Brisbane.

The numbers they are getting to Super 15 games in Aus, and South Africa, puts NZ to shame. People are just not showing up in any sort of numbers over here. That leads to a poor atmosphere and even less people turning up the next time.

You get the odd exception, such as if the students turn up down in Dunedin or the Chiefs have a Finals game, but the Hurricanes and Blues never pull a decent crowd these days and Canterbury should be selling out that piddly little ground of there's every time.

Lions tour's invariably can do that always popular. But 15 minutes sellout.....that's unreal! I would like to think there will be alot more bums on seats this coming Super 15. Even the Blue's should get more support should JK work the oracle there...think he might.

As for Izzy to me he has always been an exceptional "leaper". Unless he plays 6 we won't really see him use his aerobatic skills. Unless he has played union in his younger days I can't see Robbie fast tracking him into the Wallabies....but you never know.

He certainly will increase the gate early on that's for sure.

Lovely pick up for that try he scored on the weekend. He's got skills.

Yip Izzy has a long way to go, but like Rachael says it won't happen over night --- -- ---- ------

And tonight it happened with Falou being selected in the Wallabies top 25 to take on the British Lions, no such luck for QC though, missing out on selection

Nice double on debut for Izzy

Good game to watch, Beale misses two penalties in the last 5 minutes...Lions 1 nil up now onto Melbourne, looked like a great atmosphere, spewing we missed out on getting a ticket

Can't believe Deans selected Barnes at fullback, Genia all class Wallabies unlucky...dem da brakes, at least the AB's won!

The hype on Falou is outrageous, comparing him to Lomu, best Australian Sportsman etc, etc, lets see how he goes in the Tri Nations, Bledisloe, Poor JOC he looks for space, not much of a creator of space, but he is a talent and was better than the week before, why doesn't Deans just get off his high horse and get QC back in the fold, i wonder if Karmichael Hunt is watching this all unfold, as he continues with aerial ping pong, no doubt the Wallabies have a World Class backline,

Lions 1 Wallabies 1 onto Sydney for the decider
