Plenty Nick? I see two NZ trained, and a lot of Kiwi exports. That means five Kiwi trained horses are contesting the heats. FIVE!!!!! If that's not an indication of how little faith there is in the new scheme then I don't know what is, sad to see an iconic event like this go down the toilet. I also agree with Mardy, change is great but this isn't.

Even more farcical is we don't know how many from each heat qualify until they are finished. Rediculous.

Not true.

Perth heat - first 2 (I'm Themightyquinn, Dasher VC)

Auckland heat - first 2 (Terror To Love, Sir LIncoln/Gold Ace)

Melbourne heat - first 3 (Smoken Up, Bitobliss, Carribean Blaster)

Sydney heat - first 4 (rort) (Excel Stride, Pub Blitz, Washakie, ... )

Sydney supplementary heat - first 2 (Mah Sish, Four Starzz Flash)

Wildcard - 1 (which will be the best credentialled horse that didn't qualify)

Only slight spanner is that Karloo Mick, in the Sydney heat, had has trainer disqualified effective immediately yesterday for 12 months.

They meet this morning to decide if Karloo Mik gets pulled and whether that heat drops from 4 to 3.

I do agree the whole thing is a bit of a circus

5 is Plenty more than last year in Perth Emiliana where your big four heats a night over 3 nights atracted to 2 NZ horses Auckland Reactor & Raglan This may not be anybodys cup of tea but they aint gunna change there idea of the super sunday that they have in there minds so to say it gone down the toilet is abit of an overstatment regarding the NZ trained horses.

Stirling Point and Pure Power are New Zealand-owned but rightfully sent to Sydney to race for A$24,000 every week. In Pure Power's case, he is trained by a kiwi too.. just a recent expat.

Fair call on Stirling Point and Pure Power NZ owned, but does that mean the Aussies can claim Mr Feelgood's Inters win then? Pavlovas all over again.... ;-)

I just think that the lack of interest in the Inters from NZ owners and trainers is a clear indication of how the powers that be have completely stuffed things up.
