Madlib 2 Report post Posted April 3, 2013 Looking back over recent years when the Warriors have made the 8, they've always had a trot where they have lost a few in a row. So in that sense they are not out of the reckoning for the 8. This year may be a a bit tougher by them missing out on taking points against lesser lights like Parramatta and the Sharks and losing at home to the Roosters - though the Chooks are looking like a top 4 team this season. Especially with the big guns like Souths, Storm and the Bulldogs in the next 5 weeks. I see them finishing somewhere in the 8th-11th range on the table. Killafornia 65 Report post Posted April 7, 2013 Good luck to the Mighty Warriors today, going be a bloody tuff game! So close. Easily the best Warriors performance of the year. They dominated the majority of that game and probably deserved to win but Souths defence was stoic. Looks like the Warriors are back. Gruff 2,798 Report post Posted April 7, 2013 Was an improved performance, and one you would expect at home, the real gauge will be the away games and of course the tough one being consistency..the wooden spoon punters will be hedging...the no eight brigade will still be feeling quite safe
Killafornia 65 Report post Posted April 7, 2013 No chance of the spoon. Panthers, Eels, Dragons, Raiders all worse. Titans, Broncos, Sharks, Knights, Tigers all other teams that will finish just above or just below the Warriors.
ziggy09 384 Report post Posted April 7, 2013 Pretty good effort from the boys yesterday. Marked improvement on attack especially....some good sign's. Very dangerous team the wabbits....their wingers and Inglis are always on the lookout for a spilled pass or intercept. Nailed us twice in that 1st half when we were going OK. Love watching Inglis stretch out (bastard) so deceptively quick.....very similar to Hodges imo. So there is a bit of hope there for the faithful. Nice to have some troops returning with more back next week.....can only help the cause.

Von Cettes 685 Report post Posted April 13, 2013 The Warriors haven't won in Canberra since 1997 Tonight the Warriors defeated the Warriors, you have to expect that from a team that has won just 1 from

Now you've become just like the rest of us. Cynical old realists. lol.....nice. Raiders were always going to come at us hard in the 2nd half. Look what they did to the chooks a couple of weeks back. Ball security was pretty much crap in the last 20 minutes or so. Alot of that was down to some pretty solid defence( 3-4 man hits early in the tackle count) by the Raiders. You could see it unfolding.....well I could by no bugger was taking any notice of what I was saying.

meomy 971 Report post Posted April 23, 2013 http://www.news.com.au/sport/nrl/warriors-captain-simon-mannering-manu-vatuvei-ruled-out-of-storm-clash/story-fndv2vpx-1226627088686 Warriors captain Simon Mannering, Manu Vatuvei ruled out of Storm clash From: AAP April 23, 2013 1:53PM Warriors skipper Simon Mannering will miss his side's clash with the Storm. Picture: Sandra Mu Source: Getty Images WARRIORS captain Simon Mannering, winger Manu Vatuvei and centre Dane Nielsen have all been ruled out of the Anzac Day NRL match against the unbeaten Melbourne Storm because of injury. Veteran Vatuvei is out for up to three weeks after aggravating his sternum injury during the warm-up for the Warriors' last match, the loss to Canberra on April 13. He went on to play 80 minutes and score two tries but club medical staff said he would now need time out to recover. Second-rower Mannering hasn't recovered from the calf injury which forced him to miss leading the Kiwis for the first time in last Friday night's Test loss to Australia, while Nielsen is still troubled by the rib complaint which forced him off the field early in the Canberra match. Winger Glen Fisiiahi is restored in place of Vatuvei for Thursday's AAMI Park match while four others return from injury as options on a five-man interchange bench - forwards Jacob Lillyman, Elijah Taylor and Pita Godinet and back Jerome Ropati. Veteran centre Ropati is poised to play his first NRL game of the season. Since undergoing knee surgery he has played for the second-tier Auckland Vulcans side in the New South Wales Cup over the past month. Fisiiahi played in the Warriors' first two games but went on bereavement leave following the death of his sister and has played the last two weeks for the Vulcans. Lillyman's return ensures the Warriors will have their experienced front row rotation - also comprising Ben Matulino, Russell Packer and Sam Rapira at work for the first time in 18 matches stretching back to midway through last season. Ben Henry will take Mannering's second-row starting spot while Ngani Laumape returns to centre in place of Nielsen. Warriors: Kevin Locke, Bill Tupou, Ngani Laumape, Konrad Hurrell, Glen Fisiiahi, Thomas Leuluai, Shaun Johnson, Sam Rapira, Nathan Friend, Russell Packer, Feleti Mateo, Ben Henry, Todd Lowrie. Interchange: Elijah Taylor, Ben Matulino, Jacob Lillyman, Pita Godinet, Jerome Ropati (one to be omitted)
Gruff 2,798 Report post Posted April 25, 2013 Im trying not to be a cynical old realist but cant get past the reality of the warriors situation,if they get within 20 of the storm i will take my hat off to them, leuluai needs to find 8 lengths! Gruff 2,798 Report post Posted April 25, 2013 The 1.85 with 10 minutes to go was great value, almost a repeat of last year, storm certainly played ugly and the warriors put up a courageous effort but let down by mistakes yet again, hurrel may be a handful on attack but im afraid that's where it ends, locke needed to put his body on the line particularly the key try from cronks diagonal grubber .titans at home next week, need rain
Memphis2 1,078 Report post Posted April 25, 2013 looked like a forward pass but refs couldn keep up. Locke was a little tentative.Recipe for disaster
Killafornia 65 Report post Posted April 26, 2013 Some dud calls for the Warriors last night, but they were their own worst enemies too (especially Hurrell's hands and Ropati's lack of defence). Should get a good win against the Titans next week to reward them for their improved play of late, but it's all too late as far as season 2013 goes. ziggy09 384 Report post Posted April 26, 2013 I'm not usually one to give the ref's a spray but the Warriors can feel a bit pissed. Since when does the video ref over rule a linesman on a 40/20 call? When the Storm "demand" a decision from upstairs that's when. So why then didn't they go upstairs(seeing as though they couldn't keep up) to review that long range try late in the 2nd half. Pretty dubious pass that the video ref could have taken a close look at. Storm too good but a hell of an effort from the Warriors I reckon. Just a win will do next week Killa.......don't write off 2013 just yet. 11 or 12 wins from 17 games is still possible.................... kiwiman 3 Report post Posted May 5, 2013 Very good first half in both attack and defense and once the rain came the quality of the game went downhill quickly but overall handling was better and the forwards dominated just need ropati gone Sat night will be a huge test with lots of kiwis in the dogs team, hopefully rapira can play
meomy 971 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 Another win at last!!! Shame our lads still let things slip in second half. Very unfortunate about Kevin Lock, have always been a fan of his from his days in Toyota cup. Wishing him a successful & full recovery. http://www.radiosport.co.nz/news/spleg/261698452-nrl--kevin-locke-out-of-play NRL: Kevin Locke out of play More Sharing ServicesShare | Share on twitter Share on facebook Share on email Share on print By: Elliot Smith | Rugby League News | Monday May 6 2013 12:39 The Warriors are likely to be without fullback Kevin Locke for some time. Locke left the field with a back injury in his side's win over the Gold Coast Titans, falling to the ground away from the action. Team doctor John Mayhew says he was hospitalised last night. "At this stage we believe he's got a disc prolapse in his back which occurred as you know a long way away from the ball, and just turning and bang it went. "He was in a lot of distress. He's a lot more comfortable now but he won't be playing for a few weeks." Centre Jerome Ropati's hamstring tightened towards the end of the game, while prop Sam Rapira came off with a rib injury however both aren't expected to be major issues.
