Bev At the trials have they stopped trainers holding their dogs at the fence by the 520 boxes when people trialing pups to jump from the boxes have to contend with dogs going ballistic and freaking out their young pups? Philocon 1 Report post Posted January 30, 2010 where? on the concrete where the shade is? great idea!!! No silly, on the overhead cover where the water can drip down and cool everyone and their dog. Another alternative might be to have extra attendants stand behind the boxes with hoses or buckets of water and drench each handler and their dog as they arrive especially tracks where there is no overhead shade. But seriously perhaps a little water might cool the concrete which can get very hot in the sun. Surely this is a practical matter that should be taken up directly with respective clubs and their staff rather than a theoretical discussion here? Bev is going to get the clubs to hose the area including the ballistic dogs, and their handlers to dampen things down. On cold days a vet and a medic will be standing by to deal with resulting cases of colds and pneumonia.
