Barmer 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2012 Chalking up the winners in NH(17) but no stakes winners. Just not good enough? Seventeen winners so far in his first NH season is not to be sniffed at. No doubt the stakes successes will follow. What are his youngsters here looking like - anyone got one?

What are his youngsters here looking like - anyone got one? ..but hes only about 10 days old. 2nd foal of a pentire mare.... strong enough - without being a standout... It would be interesting to hear from those who have broken horses....

Guest MRyan Report post Posted September 28, 2012 Secret Agent (SS x Jan Valachi) from Nigel Tiley's stable is nominated for the 2YO at Avondale on Mon 1Oct. No trials form though. Must think enough of him to run him first up.

Dopey 214 Report post Posted October 17, 2012 people forget this guy was a top sprinter in the UK. The July Cup is a good race and having watched the last 20 years of it on youtube you can see a number of sires that stood over here coming from the race.... in general if you were running on at the finish you ended up being a stallion of some potential....e.g Stravinsky, etc If you were not running on at the finish...well....Paris House comes to mind. interesting to watch if you want a look. As with the two you mentioned one stood for 25 -30k when he came out (stravinsky) and got the very best of Cambridge Stud mares where Paris House from memory stood somewhere up north at the cheaper end of the scale (stand to be corrected on that one). Interesting comparisons made there, considering the calibre of the two horses, I believe that Sakhees Secret is probably more in the mode of Stravinsky (backing that up is his female line) than Paris House but its not really comparing apples with apples, and I think it is very hard to in this industry to make comparisons to horses but as you say the race has very good form and I think the Australians take not of that race considering that they are taking horses over there to try and win their group 1s. Berri 2,131 Report post Posted October 17, 2012 He's not really firing in the NH. His progeny are just hanging in there with no obvious next year contenders. He did improve as a three year old to win the July Cup but Marchand D'Or should have won the race with a clear run. The runner up Dutch Art was well beaten by Marchand D'Or at his next two starts thereby franking the form. To keep it in balance, Dutch Art won the Middle Park as a two year old. But SS is no where in the mould of Stravinsky. Stravinsky was in a different class. He won the July Cup by 4 with a serious display of speed running 1.09 and change which at Newmarket is an impressive time. SS ran 1.10 and change. Stravinsky then won the Nunthorpe over 1000 at his next start before running in the Breeders Cup Sprint on the dirt. He was beaten 4 lengths by Artax (champion) when they ran 1.07. He was only 3. Then he was retired. SS ran at 4 being beaten in 3 races including running last in his last 2 starts.
